CorSera: Gortezka and Vlahovic among Allegri’s requests – what else he asked for

This summer, Massimiliano Allegri could leave AC Milan. However, he will remain if certain demands are met by the management.

By now, it is no secret that Milan could lose Allegri in the summer. It has been reported heavily in the past few days and even earlier today, it was suggested that the club would need to listen to his demands for him to stay.

Of course, this could be slightly difficult on the face of it. However, it is not a case of him of requesting ridiculous things.

Reinforcements required

As referenced earlier, the Italian has a list of demands that he wants to see fulfilled and Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) have looked deeper at the requests which he has laid out.

Firstly, he wants ‘at least four experienced, international-calibre players’. It is well known that he wants Leon Goretzka and/or Dusan Vlahovic. Both free agents are opportunities for the club, which he would like to see pursued at the very least.

He also wants a more structured squad, with quality and numbers arriving over the next few months. Indeed, this will be needed for the team to challenge for the Scudetto and in the Champions League.

The Ibra issue

Away from the team, the issue with Zlatan Ibrahimovic must be solved. Their relationship is dire and solving that ‘seems impossible’. A middleman could be brought in to act between them, but that needs to be seen to be believed.

In other words, it can be resolved, but whether that will be enough for Allegri to stay will need to be seen.

  1. It’s up to Cardinale to sort out the organizational structure, failing which will send a not so comforting signal to future reputable recruits (SD and coach).

  2. Great additions, but who’s going to go and get them?

    Goretska, Vlahovic, Gila and Kone (who seem to be our key targets) will all have their situations resolved pretty quickly this summer – probably during the same period we are still trying to figure out who’s in charge.

      1. Your take home is that you don’t agree with my estimate of who the main targets are, based on multiple reports?

        Wow, ok. You’ve missed the point entirely but incase there was any confusion, I don’t actually make our signings.

          1. Sorry my reply was a bit snarky, it’s just been a bit toxic on here lately and I think everyones heckles are up 😄

    1. Yeah, it is always 5 players and then they sort out their transfers in June and Milan goes for plan B, then plan C, and settle for some player nobody wanted 2 months ago.

    1. There is pace, it’s just not being used. You could substitute all of our players with Bayern Munich’s or PSG’s, and Allegri would still park the bus and make them play like Pisa or Cremonese.

      1. Exactly. The bigger issue is the coach who is incapable of getting the most of his players. He could have all the players he wanted and still fail to win anything meaningful due to his lack of tactics.

      2. I think you are right here. In almost every game we invite the opponent to take control. Top players upfront will not play in a defensive team like AC Milan.

        1. France won how many titles playing like this? Did you hear Mbappe complain? Or anyone else? Maybe I am wrong so you’ll tell me. I can give you much more examples. Clubs – Real Madrid has been playing defensively against most teams in Champions League. Counter attacking football exclusively, sometimes they had under 35% possession. I didn’t hear anyone leaving Real Madrid because of this? Not only this, that same guy Mbappe joined them. But you can prove me wrong easily.

          I’d bet more top players would want to play for Allegri than Fabregas.

  3. Defensive Allegri should go, please. Football of nowadays is not the way he knows it. Just go, please

  4. Why would that be slightly difficult (even just on the face of it), what are you talking about? These are more than reasonable demands, that’s what should have been provided to him last summer.
    First we must resolve 4 neuralgic points/positions (“sweeper” DC, MC, LWB and SC) and then turn to the matter of the RWB and backup SC and then to the matter of vice-Pavlovic and then maybe selling of Tomori and Nkunku. Also, we should add Bondo (Musah) and Comotto/Zeroli in the middle (so we could have 8 decent solutions in that department) and Camarda up front.

    1. Varje kommentar du skriver är något negativt om Zlatan. Har han gjort dig något personligen eller?
      Så tröttsamt att läsa dina kommentarer!

  5. Conditions for him to stay? I don’t buy it. He won’t walk away from all that guaranteed money if his extension gets triggered.

  6. Allegri cannot even utilize current team against small teams that cost fraction of our squad. His style is an outdated pain to watch. He would fail even with Manchester City’s budget and squad. He must go.

  7. Gila, Grimaldo, Goretzka, Vlahovic (1)
    Dodo, Gabriel Jesus (2)
    Ake (3)
    replacement for Tomori ? and for Nkunku ? (4)

  8. Phase 1: Gila, Grimaldo, Goretzka, Vlahovic;
    Phase 2: Dodo, Gabriel Jesus;
    Phase 3: Ake;
    Phase 4: replacements (?) for Tomori and Nkunku;

    1. I like your phase 1 choices, but overall I think this market is beyond the club’s budget. I’d get Spinazzola on a free instead of Grimaldo. Then why Gabriel Jesus? Backup striker is Gimenez. We also need a DM and lot more than another box to box/mezzala. Goretzka is “free”, but he’s actually not the type of player we need. If we only had a monstrous DM, Rabiot and Fofana could get up higher and help the attack. We might even be able to play 4-3-3. I would take Goretzka on the free, but only if we got a top DM. We don’t need Dodo, we more need a backup/alternate to Bartesaghi. I have a feeling Athekame will break out next season and he should be given a chance to do so.

      Nkunku can stay as the backup/alternate support striker (behind Puli). Tomori can stay as a depth CB.

      In: Spinazzola, Gila, Vlaho, Goretzka, 50M DM.

      Out: Leao, Estupinan, Musah, RLC, Bennacer, Chukwueze

      Total senior players 22 (19 now, minus Leao and Estupinan, plus the five above), then round out the squad with 2-3 of the best Futuro players, which we’ll need to do anyway for the UEFA lists.

      GK: Mike, Terraciano, Torriani
      LB: Spinazzola, Bartesaghi
      CB: Pavlo, Gabbia, Gila, De Winter, Tomori
      RB: Athekame, Salad
      CM: Rabiot, New DM, Gretzka, Modric, Ricci, Jashari
      SS: Pulisic, Nkunku
      CF: Vlahovic, Gimenez

      Extras: 2-3 Futuro players.

      If there is any extra money at all maybe one more experienced fullback who can play on both sides for ultimate depth, a la Florenzi.

      1. This is decent. Although I’d also try to sell Tomori because he’s been so unreliable since the scudetto year, but you could still get a decent fee for him. Then replace with Gatti or Okoli.

      2. How can you be satisfied by Gimenez’s performances? Someone to be Bartesaghi’s backup? We have 23 players right now and you would reduce that number even though that is not enough as it is?

        1. we need someone to be the main LB and bartesaghi should never be a starter if we are serious about competing

        2. We have 19 first teamers, exclusive of any Futuro call ups for specific matches, so not sure where your 23 is from. We also have UEFA squad list rules to adhere to. Gimenez is a BACKUP. I’m also trying to work within a realistic Redbird budget. Give me carte blanche and you’d see a completely different 25 man roster, but we’re not play FM here.

  9. Mediocre rubbish. Goretzka is worse than Ricci, he’s slower than my grandmother. Vlahovic is overrated, he didn’t do enough at Juve, what makes people think he’ll do something at Milan? Forget it. If Gimenez is struggling in this squad, Vlahovic will be the same. The problem is deeper than the players. We have clowns in the ownership, financial, scouts, etc, and we have a dinosaur as our manager, whose tactics have made us the most unwatchable team in the top 5 leagues.

  10. You guys are getting ahead of yourselves. To sort our the transfer requests you need to figure out who will be doing the “requesting”.

    Instead of having everything figured out in advance as far as the management restructuring so that it’s go time when the season is done, Gerry has yet to figure out who stays, who goes and who takes the reins.

    You need to have your next SD lined up and ready to go, with a coach confirmed and a strategy outlined. Instead, Gerry will f*ck around until july, then start looking for players in august and Milan will end up with its thumb up its you-know-what looking for last minute bargains and more of Fullkrug’s and nkunku’s of this world…
