Hauge reflects on ‘wonderful’ start as a Milan player; picks out four team-mates he is closest to

By Oliver Fisher -

New signing Jens Petter Hauge has reflected on a ‘great day’ as he made his debut for AC Milan in the 3-0 win over Spezia at San Siro.

Despite the scoreline being 0-0 at half-time, the Rossoneri roared to life in the second half and scored three times with Rafael Leao getting a brace either side of a fantastic solo goal from Theo Hernandez.

Towards the end of the game though there was a big moment for Hauge as he came on for Brahim Diaz, just a few days after sealing his arrival from Bodo/Glimt, which in turn came just a few days after he had played against Milan in the Europa League for the Norwegian side.

Speaking to the microphones of Milan TV, Hauge reflected on his Milan debut, starting by describing the emotion of stepping onto the field at San Siro.

“It was great to play here with the glorious Rossoneri shirt at San Siro. It was a great day for me and it was important that the team won,” he said (via MilanNews).

On his first days as a Milan player: “They were wonderful days. The players and the staff were very kind to me and they helped me a lot to settle in. I will try to learn Italian as quickly as possible and to settle in the best way.

“The whole team are very close to me, however in recent days I have talked a lot with Brahim, Bennacer and Leao. I talked a lot with Hakan who gave me advice on how to play and how to grow. I am very happy to be here with the whole team.”
