Hellas Verona boss Tudor: “Milan only have third or fourth best squad”

Hellas Verona boss Igor Tudor has said that AC Milan only have the third or fourth-best squad in Serie A this season.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of Sunday night’s clash between Verona and Milan at the Stadio Bentegodi (via Milan News), Tudor showed how much he admires the work that Stefano Pioli and his staff have done at Milan this season.

“If you look at the squad they have they are in third or fourth place, this means that the club and the coach have done an extraordinary job.

“They’ve been there for two years, I congratulate everyone. They have great energy and physicality, so we will have to be at our best in that respect.”

Daniele Doveri has been appointed by the FIGC as the referee for Sunday night’s match and Tudor feels that he can be a bit too sensitive and quick to hand out cards.

“I respect him, he has quality, although for my taste he is a bit touchy. The red for Ceccherini against Napoli was exaggerated, he got the second yellow sixty metres from the goal, which for me was not rigth. I hope there won’t be any talk about him after the game.”

It is expected that around half of the attendance at the Bentegodi on Sunday will actually be Milan fans but Tudor thinks his team will still feel that they are at home.

“There will also be a lot of our fans there. We will feel at home and try to do our best.”

Milan came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 when the sides met earlier in the season. Tudor feels that his team has improved since that game.

“Clearly yes, you learn from all matches. The regret is that we didn’t bring home a point after being ahead 2-0, but we have improved since that game, we have become more solid.

“Tomorrow will be very difficult, but at the same time beautiful. We will have to run a lot and not make mistakes.”
