Romano: ‘Here we go’ – Jimenez will join Bournemouth on loan with formalities due soon

@FabrizioRomano

AC Milan, late last night, agreed a deal with Bournemouth for Alex Jimenez, and he will leave the club in the final hours of the mercato.

The situation with Jimenez is a little confusing. Only a few weeks ago, a move to Napoli was rejected, with Milan seeing him as part of the club’s plans, though that has clearly now been changed, with Bournemouth set to the sign the defender with a buy clause.

Here we go!

Reports yesterday suggested that there was a gap of €2-3 million to close between the clubs, and it seems this has been done, with Fabrizio Romano giving the move his famous ‘Here we go’ seal of approval.

The two clubs have agreed on a loan, with a buy clause inserted within – though it is not specified whether that is an obligation or an option. Nevertheless, it is a verbal agreement for now, and the formal steps will now be completed ‘in the next 24 hours’.

Interestingly, Real Madrid have also approved the deal, as they will retain their buy-back clause, which, admittedly, is slightly confusing. Whether that means Los Blancos will activate the buy clause next summer from the Diavolo or the Cherries is not stated.

For now, though, the deal is done between the only two parties that matter for now.

  1. This is a fcking mistake. He has tremendous potential and is easily above Estupinian, just needs a year or two to mature even more. Gift-wise.. he is an absolute natural

  2. What a disgrace!!
    I am absolutely raging!!
In some ways this is worse than Tiji!!

A really exciting young player who just started to break into the first team, a player with speed, skill and hard work.
Aside from all that he can play everywhere, including wing back!!
    WHAT AN ENOURMUS MISTAKE!!

DAY BY DAY THIS CLUB FURTHER DISENFRANCHISES THE FANS AND PLAYERS.

10 th place guys. You heard it here first.

      1. Firstly we need players for this season and he has proven to be a great option at wingback as well as further forward. So yes he would be important

Secondly the player has a say in where he plays, so buy back option or not if he felt important at Milan he would stay rather than be on the bench at Madrid or most likely sold on for profit by them.

        1. Yes, he was at Madrid since 2012, so since he was 7? He is going to pick Milan over his childhood club? Completely unrealistic, most players like that would pick to fight for their place at Madrid than stay at another club. Considering Carvajal is close to retirement and Alexandre Arnold is an unortodox center back, and with Alonso as a manager, he could probably play there in 2 years.

Musah will play there, both wing backs if necessary, don’t worry 😉

      2. I hate being forced to agree with this guy… but… I think we should just take what we can get. Jimenez is NOT first team material. The fact we’re getting this much for him absolutely shocks me.

I’ve called things wrong, but the deal is great for Milan. And if there was really such a demand, he would have gone to a different team other than Bournemouth, which has zero chance of even getting Euro football.

I know we often see a young player and have these huge aspirations and hopes… and I could be wrong and he could end up being sold to Liverpool or someone for 80 million in two years, but I highly doubt it.

    1. Could it be Kerkez all over again, if they get Musah and Chuck out the sales could surpass €300m….

Gonna be a fascinating couple of days and will reveal the exact truth (at the moment we hypothesise, but if players are not brought in then we need to prepare for a dry season, and Red Bird have truly screwed our club), the real facts

      1. Kerkez left for nothing. For 25M you can buy 2 players on those positions. Juanlu for example, 12M, frowm what I saw not really worse than Jimenez and 22.

        1. What? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hahahahahahah. What a lie. He demanded to play some minutes in the first team, he got 0. Never got last 5 minutes, not even in a cup match. You always make up stupid things.

          1. Who cares what Ollie said in a podcast? That guy knows nothing. I don’t watch podcasts of people that relay information from others and pretend they know something for a fact. Watched it once, a joke. They don’t know, they read other media and that is where they get their info from, same as me and you. Well obviously not you, you take their word like the absolute truth…cmon man, Kerkez asked to play in front of Theo? You really believe that? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, why did he go to AZ and play for the youth team in Fing Netherlands for half a year? He forgot he wants to play in the first team or what? Can you explain?

        2. Demanded to be a starter over Theo. Ahahahahahhahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

        3. Dejan, you know he played in the youth team of PSV first? For half a season. So he went to play with kids in Netherlands after demanding to start ahead of Theo at AC Milan? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    2. I agree I wouldn’t have let him go but Allegri (or Jimenez himself) could’ve had a hand in this – we don’t know what went on behind the scenes yet… not everything’s automatically management’s fault…

    3. Nonsense. He is good at supporting the offense but sucks as a defender. He has enormous discipline problems on and off the field. On the field he is always one tantrum away from a red card. Off the field he is tardy to practice and has irritated the head coach. And finally, he is not even truly ours given Real’s right to buy back.

He is a good player as a winger (not as a wing back or a full back), but he has more downsides than upsides. Good riddance.

      1. This. And the fact we got this kind of deal… is enough for me to say yes to it. I just don’t get the attitude issues… you’d think someone being paid millions, would be more careful.

  3. What I don’t understand is why they didn’t say permanent transfer or nothing. Take the money and get done with it. Bournemouth has money, 112M€ profit made in this transfer window. Kerkez, Huijsen adn Zabarny sold for big money. Loan with option, Real retains buy back, extremely bad deal…

  4. Very very very very stupid idea guys left us boycott this team then this stupid owner will have to sell it it is really disgusting to see our best players leaving this is all furlani ideas the guy is mentally sick

  5. WHAT A BAD IDEA, I HATE MILAN MANAGEMENT THEY ARE ALL FULL OF IDIOTS AND BASTARDS, I HATE THIS PEOPLE BUNCH OF IDIOTS.

  6. Milan is covered on both wings, and defensively. As things stand, Jimenez will not get much playing time at Milan. Also, Allegri and Tare ain’t ready to keep players who won’t have much time. Jashari’s injury is what is still keeping Musah around, and, I won’t be surprised if they finalize the deal before deadline. Chukwueze is another. Gimenez, too, might leave, except Milan wants to spend on another striker. It’s going to be a very tough season, and it’s understandably if the coach and Tare want only players that will play actively.
