Noah Okafor has been surrounded by exit rumours for months now and after a failed move to RB Leipzig, the AC Milan forward is seemingly heading to Napoli.
Despite the arrival of Sergio Conceicao, Okafor has struggled to earn a chance for the Portuguese head coach, despite opportunities being given to other players in similar positions. Of course, the Swiss winger was injured for a period, but even since then, a chance has not arrived.
The big talking point in the early stages of the window was his failed move to Leipzig, which came around not through an injury problem, but rather the German club having issues with the finances of the deal, as we reported earlier this month.
As a result of that falling through though, his position did not solidify, and he has been sought after throughout January.
Now, that interest seems to be tangible, and Napoli have made an attempt for the winger, but it was reliant on their own deal for Allan Saint-Maximin. Matteo Moretto posted that documents were being exchanged between the two clubs.
However, Fabrizio Romano has just given the deal ‘Here we go’ status, the Swissman will move to Napoli on a loan deal with a €23 million buy clause in the summer, the winger is expected to sign tonight.
Can’t imagine Napoli will genuinely pay €23mn but if he has a decent 6 months they’ll probably try to negotiate with us for something a bit lower.
Still he never really established himself at the club and Napoli need a Kvara replacement. Good luck to him (as long as he doesn’t score against Milan!)
I keep reading people doubting anyone paying over 20m for him yet more clubs are plus Milan sees that about OK. Despite his difficulties this season his market value is still around 25m. Perhaps most of us are just undervaluing his potentials. He’s been one of Milans most followed players in recent transfer windows. Personally I think he’s good enough for Milan but been a bit misused or unlucky in regards to injuries this season.
I think he is worse this season than last season. No progression at all.
That’s not a good move, Okafor is a good figure.
Okafor has an injury record that can give you and eye sore. That is why Milan got him on the cheap. He hasn’t been terrible because he is talented but he isn’t fit enough for Milan and going to Napoli is good because he will play consistent football.
Plus he might just win a medal for winning the league for a 6 month job.
Great deal for Milan if Conte can transform him and get ADL to buy him out. Good Luck …
From Kvaradona to Okafour (goals a season).
Okafor leaving is a big transfer in itself. Conte can do miracle. His turn average\ just above average players like Pelle, Giaccherini to workhorse abd beat Spain soundly. But I don’t think Napoli will give 24 million for him.
Okafor is not a good winger or a good striker. He’s more of a 2nd striker like Jovic but very inconsistent and slow. I’m glad Milan offload him to Napoli. Hopefully they buy him permanently.
This summer Milan should sell Chukwueze, RLC, Emerson and loan out Musah.
Its good price because for Napoli he will be in starting 11. That’s the eeason why they ask for 23m€, because under Conte he can be useful and more consistent. Wish him more game time
If it is only option to buy him then bad deal.
Why are all our players going on “Option to buy” ? This is so disheartening! We push our players around for cheap. So bad !
Management is selling off all their purchases from the last two seasons. just think only Pulisic, Reijnders, and Fofana have been worth it. All that money could have been used to renew Tonali and bring in another Midfield general. Great job Gerry! You are the master troll.
Kvera to okafor, Conti must be thrilled 😂
He was good squad depth tho although I think sottil can do better. Also I think that it should be an obligation to buy at 15 mill with buy and/or a percentage of the resale value. Raises obvious question marks on the milan management.
