It is not new news that Theo will probably leave Milan this summer. However, it has still, somehow, been a rollercoaster. A move to Saudi Arabia seemed possible, then unlikely, then possible and back to impossible.
Theo’s reason? He wants to stay in Europe, despite the clubs agreeing on everything. This is not a huge concern, though, as there are still suitors, but the finances may be lowered.
Heading back to Spain
A move to Spain, and more importantly, back to Atletico Madrid, seems more plausible, with the player open to the move. However, it seems it is more than openness. Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto admitted that Theo has already reached an agreement with Los Colchoneros, as Milan News relays.
There remains a vital issue to solve, though. Despite the Frenchman now in agreement, the clubs are not. Atleti’s last bid was less than €20 million, which includes bonuses, a figure that the Rossoneri will not agree to.
So, negotiations will continue past the deadline, the same one that killed his French teammate Mike Maignan’s move away.
