Theo Hernandez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been able to find each other on the pitch this season, a lot better than they did in the summer. This has resulted in a few goals and a successful partnership overall.
As he often finds himself in advanced positions, high up the pitch, Hernandez has been able to pick up Ibrahimovic and it helps that the latter has good size in the box. In his interview with SportWeek (via MilanNews), the Frenchman praised the 39-year-old.
“He gave us courage, he gives us lots of advice and sometimes even scolds us (but always to motivate us),” he began.
Hernandez also revealed how Ibrahimovic reacted when the former came back from vacation ahead of the 2020/21 season. In true Zlatan spirit, he managed to get a jab in while also motivating the player to do better.
“When I came back from vacation, he told me: where are you going with 90 kilos here? But he also told me that I’m strong and that I have to become the best, but that I have to work hard. We follow him, and in training, we give everything, always,” he concluded.
Tomorrow evening, Milan will take on Napoli and Hernandez will play from the first minute. Ibrahimovic, on the other hand, is yet to recover from his injury and is aiming to be ready for the second leg against Man Utd next week.
