Theo Hernandez has been an important player for Milan this season, just like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and it’s clear that especially the latter has helped bring the best out of everyone. And that includes Hernandez.
In the league, Hernandez has bagged four assists and three of them have been for Ibrahimovic, which is confirmation of their partnership. The Swede is strong in the box and the former Real Madrid man has been able to pick him out.
Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, Hernandez spoke about the impact of the 39-year-old ever since he arrived in January of last year. Although he might demand a lot, putting his teammates under pressure, he has been extremely important.
After a few complicated months, in January 2020, Ibrahimovic arrived and completely changed the face of Milan…
“Since he arrived, he has given us a boost, without a doubt. It’s true that his presence imposes a bit, but in the end, he helps us a lot, he’s one more teammate. Sometimes he puts us at attention, but this is also needed.”
What is your relationship with him?
“Very good. Sometimes I get some lectures, but it’s normal. He always wants me to do my best. Sometimes he pushes us, Zlatan is Zlatan. With him, there are jokes and laughter but his ‘God’ side imposes, and, deep down, this is what is cool about him.”
Milan will take on Sampdoria after the international break and everyone will have to be at their best to achieve a good result. With just ten games left of the season, they need every win they can get to catch up with Inter.
