HITC: Ex-Chelsea boss Potter among three coaches Milan are considering

Two former Chelsea bosses are on AC Milan’s list of candidates to replace Stefano Pioli at the end of the season, according to a report from England.

According to what is being reported by HITC, Milan are ‘beginning to look at options’ to replace Pioli given that the club are heading for an underwhelming season as they are out of the Champions League and winning the Scudetto would be a miracle at this point.

Their sources have apparently confirmed that the Rossoneri’s hierarchy are looking for his successor and that Graham Potter is ‘one of those that they have assessed’.

He has been out of a job since Chelsea sacked him last season, rejecting an offer from Leicester City. Manchester United and Crystal Palace have also been linked with the Englishman though nothing ended up coming of it.

As we wrote in a recent Substack update and have reported several times in the past few weeks, Thiago Motta – who is impressing as head coach of Bologna – is also being looked at as Pioli’s potential heir.

However, HITC claim that the ‘firm favourite’ is Antonio Conte, whose last job was as manager of Spurs. Since leaving north London club last season, he has been heavily linked with a return to Italy.

Moreover, the report states that ‘the possibility of taking over at Milan does appeal’ to Conte and that talks ‘have already taken place’.
