As reports have suggested, Morten Hjulmand can leave Sporting this summer and AC Milan may have a €15 million advantage.
It seems possible that Ruben Amorim could host his own midfield reunion this summer after Massimiliano Allegri brought Adrien Rabiot last summer. This time, it would involve Hjulmand, who was one of the Portuguese’s stars in his Sporting team.

According to Record, one of the biggest Portuguese sporting outlets, Hjulmand has already unofficially said his goodbyes to Sporting, as Calciomercato.com relays. Last summer, the club agreed to keep him for another season, with it likely that he would leave the summer after.
Now, here we are and there are two prices in place for the Dane’s transfer. Premier League clubs will have to pay around the €50m mark, but there is another price for Serie A clubs. Indeed, they would get a discount of €10-15m.
This would mean that the Rossoneri could make a move for the midfielder, perhaps for as little as €35m. A very affordable price, if the right pieces move.
Yesterday, it was reported that the interest in a move would not be officially there yet, largely because of the lack of space and funds. However, some sales in midfield could turn the tables. We shall see what Amorim’s desires are.
Rabiot Hjulmand would be a good double pivot.
Better than what we have but Milan should also sign Ugarte and sell Ricci. We need at least 2 defensive midfielders since we are going to play with a midfield pivot.

But no teams pay for players in 1 payment, it is always paid over any length of time, so by this logic, there never really a transfer budget, that is just a ‘media/fan construct’, which many fall foul off.
Huolamd for £35m is an absolute steel and given his previous time in seria he does not need to adapt!!

This Milan squad, built around Amorim’s 3-4-2-1, already has the bones for a top-four finish and the man in charge has already proven he can do exactly this.
At Sporting, Amorim didn’t inherit a superclub. He built a structured, high-functioning system around available players, developed overlooked talent, and delivered consistent results against better-resourced rivals. The system came first, the players adapted and it worked. That’s the blueprint here.
With Hjulmand and Zaniolo if confirmed as signings, the squad depth is real.
Base XI: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlović; Estupiñán, Jashari, Hjulmand, Saelemaekers; Leão, Pulisic; Giménez. Jashari and Hjulmand form a proper double pivot aggressive, disciplined, covers the ground Amorim demands. Leão and Pulisic get the half-space freedom to hurt teams. Giménez leads the line.
Depth beyond that is genuinely exciting. Modrić for control in tight matches. Zaniolo and Nkunku as alternative attacking profiles. Chukwueze for width and transitions. Ricci as a specialist progressive option when the game calls for it.
Then factor in the returnees. Camarda is ready to push for minutes his pressing profile fits this system perfectly. Zeroli and Bondo add midfield rotation without breaking the tactical structure. These aren’t squad fillers, they’re system players with serious upside. Exactly the kind of depth Amorim built his Sporting side on.
Two gaps remain: a natural right wing-back to balance Estupiñán, and possibly one more centre-back for back three rotation. Fixable problems.
Everything else is already there. Amorim has done more with less. Give him time.

If we sell Loftus cheek, bennacer and modric doesn’t stay then yet he would be good but given we have Fofana Ricci and Jashari he would be a luxury we can do without. But I wouldn’t complain if he joins.
