It seems AC Milan could host another midfield reunion this summer, this time between Ruben Amorim and Morten Hjulmand.
Last summer, Milan worked tirelessly to get a deal for Adrien Rabiot done when he became available after Massimiliano Allegri’s request to get the deal done. In the end, it was a good thing that they did, considering how important the Frenchman was.

Now, a similar move could be made by the Rossoneri, who may look to improve their midfield again with their crown jewel considering retirement and Rabiot looking to Napoli for Allegri again.
Hjulmand to Milan?
According to A Bola, the midfielder would be the first name on the list for the area and the Dane has always viewed a reunion positively, as MilanTMN relays on X. He would also be very happy to return to Italy.
The midfielder was launched with Lecce and so he would be more than open for a return to Serie A under a coach whom he appreciates.
There is a big sticking point, though. Unfortunately, Sporting are demanding a figure of €40-50 million for his sale, which represents a major obstacle for the Rossoneri and it could open the door to Atletico Madrid.
Nothing has been decided just yet, so he cannot be written off…

You still don’t understand Redbird, do you? Hjulmand will be 27 in about a week. They won’t be able to turn a profit on him if they spend 50M at this age. Maybe if he has some kind of banner year and the club finishes to four, but highly unlikely they’d be able to flip this player for 60-70M in 2027. They might not even break even. Redbird is not interested in breaking even or selling at a loss. This is why they’re trying to hire Krosche, an expert player flipper.
How old was Nkunku when Milan signed him for the same money last summer since you understand RedBird so much and all they care is selling the players and turning profit on them?

Which Diaz or Trossard are you talking about? Presumably not Luis or Leandro, because we don’t have a chance of signing either of them. They’re both at UCL clubs earning a higher wage than our highest paid players.
If there’s a Dave Diaz or Terry Trossard out there, then maybe.

Milan buys one Serie A player per season at best. If even that. I think they have an unwritten rule about it. Introduced by Moncada who said every player who arrives must have been playing in either Chelsea or France.
The truth is that AC Milan does not have money; this is true for everyone in Serie A. The club has to be winning the league and making a decent run in the UCL to have a workable budget every year. This is a deep-rooted problem. Redbird cannot pour money into the team because UEFA will break a bat behind the head of AC Milan.
So just accept that selling to survive is the consequence until the stadium is built. So this was going to be a consistent problem, so Zlatan has the right perspective on the Futuro squad and the U-19 team as well. Pour efforts into making that a platinum product that cycles out talented players often.
Maignan, Nkunku and Rabiot all came out of the PSG academy when the owner was throwing money at the youth development. So Milan should see the pot of gold before getting there for now.
