AC Milan’s interest in signing Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United has now been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
Among Igli Tare’s first words as the new sporting director of Milan, he spoke about the need to bring in a new centre-forward to partner Santiago Gimenez, someone who offered something a bit different to the Mexican.

“As for the centre-forward, we’re looking for another player to compete with Gimenez, who I consider an excellent player but who has had a normal Italian impact, adapting to a very different kind of football like Dutch football,” he said.
“[…] We’re taking the necessary time to understand what shape the team will take, but we have clear ideas about the type of player he will be, with the characteristics of a true centre-forward who can make the difference in the penalty area: this has been missing since Giroud’s departure.”
Numerous players have been linked over the summer like Darwin Nunez, Mateo Retegui, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Boniface. However, with rumours that Benjamin Sesko is going to Manchester United for €80m, a new hypothesis has emerged.
‘Especially from AC Milan’
In a video on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano gave an update on the situation related to Hojlund and confirmed that he could leave Old Trafford with Milan watching things closely.
“Hojlund could leave United. I’ve always told you how he wanted to stay and fight for a place in the team, but if Manchester were to sign a top-class striker like Sesko, then Hojlund could really leave the club,” he said (via MilanNews).
“No one at United has ever told the Dane he has to leave, but if a top centre-forward like Sesko were to arrive, then it would really be time for the former Atalanta player to leave Manchester. Don’t forget the interest from Italy, especially from AC Milan, who are looking for a striker.
“At the moment, however, it’s considered too expensive a move, and he’s not the only option because Vlahovic is also available, but Hojlund could become an option if United were to open up to an exit. He remains a name to watch at the end of this transfer window.”
I mean, we struggled with Morata missing every obvious goal…Do we think Hojlund, with no confidence, will be better?

Hojlund is a striker that mostly operates in space and counter attacks. That’s not what Milan needs. Vs a low block defenses he’d be useless.
Get Dusan Vlahovic.
If you can’t get Vlahovic and if you go to United for a striker, I’d rather have Zirkzee than Hojlund. His skillset is needed more than another counter attacking player. He isn’t going to score 20 goals but he will contribute in scoring 20 goals.
Id rather have Terraciano playing ST than welcoming that idiot of Zirkzee who chose a joke of a club over Milan just to fill his agent’s pockets.

Hard pass on Hoijlund. A loan doesn’t solve anything and he doesn’t seem like the box presence Max is looking for. This seems just like a convenient headline given he came from Serie A and Max is looking for a striker.

Admitted, I am Danish = biased when it comes to Højlund, but too many here are to ignorant to ignore.
@Z It is publicly wellknown in Denmark, that Højlund has been a Man U fan since his childhood.

He is physically strong, technically gifted, hard-working, knows Seria A and knows how to score (in Atalanta).
Has he been crap in Man U? Yes, but who have played well for them ion the past couple of years?
Add to all this, that he is cheap, young and has plenty of potential.
In short, he is more than a good solution for us.
As a Dane I agree with you here even if Vlahovic is my preferred choice if financially feasible in fee and wages then Højlund certainly isn’t a bad choice either. Amongst the names mentioned in the media I would choose amongst those two players.

Darwin Nunez & Dusan Vlahovic should be the only choices here.
I would prefer a striker we can buy for the next couple of seasons. To press reset button again next season with all these expensive deals doesn’t help for a longer term project. Give Allegri a striker that we can build on for the next 3 to 5 seasons. If Vlahovic drops his salary I think he will be better option then having to haggle over Holjund’s price after the loan. Not sensible…and for the Danish nationals on here they dont make them like the Laudrup brothers anymore…no offense😊
Well to be fair Laudrup brothers or Schmeichel was worldclass players in the history of the sport they doesn’t just come by any nations like on a conveyor belt.
Højlund nevertheless is 22 years old and easily could play for a lot of European top clubs if he gets up in gears.

Loan with option to buy 35m euro . Low risk high reward for rasmus. If he fail just return him back to MU and sign dusan that already free transfer. Højlund would just be benched and wrong type of player and as said zero confidence so no wouldn’t get him I think Vlahovic is a safer card but if he doesn’t work out we still have Santi
