Rasmus Hojlund gave little away when asked about rumours he could have joined AC Milan, who will be an opponent on Sunday.
During the summer transfer window, when Milan were aggressively pursuing a new striker, Hojlund was among the names most frequently linked. However, in the end he did not arrive and Napoli pounced after Romelu Lukaku’s injury, getting him on loan with an obligation to buy.

What it means is that on Sunday, when Napoli come to San Siro, he will face the club that he could have joined. The Dane has been thrust into a starting role because of Lukaku’s absence, and he got off the mark in a recent victory against Fiorentina.
La Repubblica interviewed Hojlund and as part of a larger chat about his start to life back in Italy, they also asked him about Milan. His comments have been relayed by MilanNews.

“It’s a very important one: we’ll be facing a really strong team, who seem to be playing well under their new coach. But we’ll go there to try to get the most out of it. Taking to the pitch with the Scudetto on our shirt is a responsibility, as well as a privilege.”
