AC Milan are making progress in the negotiations with Manchester United and Rasmus Hojlund, according to reports.
Over the past few days, it has been reported that Milan and United have been in intense talks over an initial loan deal for Hojlund. However, the final step to complete things was the player accepting the move, which hadn’t been forthcoming yet.

An opening from Rasmus
On X, Fabrizio Romano reports that Milan keep advancing on the Højlund deal with Manchester United. Talks are ongoing on the player’s side to discuss the project, as the Dane is now ‘opening doors’ to Milan.
The figures of the deal with United have already been agreed, since last week: it will be a €6m loan fee, €45m option to buy and the striker’s full salary to be covered.
Meanwhile, Matteo Moretto writes: “Milan intensifies the pressure for Rasmus Højlund. The striker is open to a transfer to the Rossoneri, and new contacts are expected in the coming hours to advance the negotiations. Loan deal with a fee (€5-6m) and an option to buy (€45m).”
Ultimately, the recent signing of Benjamin Sesko – who was introduced to United fans in a friendly against Fiorentina over the weekend after his €80m move from RB Leipzig – bumped Hojlund further down the pecking order.
Hojlund was an unused substitute in that 1-1 draw, and almost as if to prove a point that he isn’t needed, Ruben Amorim has even used playmakers Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha up front in the last two games.
I saw a player in Hojlund in the season with Atalanta. I like this gamble. 45 mil next year with CL money should not be a problem if the change of scenery affects Hojlund positively.

Retegui moved from a side in the UCL where he’s become a key player for Italy, in a World Cup year, to Saudi Arabia, for a 65M+ fee with approx 15M net wages per year.

Manu won’t get 45m. It’ll be a similar price as Jashari including the loan. Loan to option allows us to test him out. He has serie a experience so it shouldn’t be a big risk. At 22 he will only get better. Manu killed his confidence but his matured playing with good players. If he plays well, he will be worth more than what we pay at the end of season, if not he goes back to them. It’s a smart deal.

I watched Hojlund’s 2024 goal highlights. He’s a poacher, gets his goals in ways similar to Giminez. He’s very good in tight spaces and has great field awareness. He’s not a holding 9 either. But it’s a loan and he has something to prove. I’m optimistic.

Total package 10m for this operation its more realistic than vlahovic. Milan only wants option to buy coz next season maybe it’s time to camarda + gimenez. They knew it.
I’m having a hard time understanding this move at these numbers… Seems like an expensive loan. I don’t know what kind of numbers Hojlund would have to put up at Milan to validate a 45mil buyout.
It is not obligation buying option. They will return him to MU if he flop. Even if he score 10-15 goal this season , they will still return him and asking for discount price and they will skip if MU dont want to give discount. That trick / method are common for italian club now
They won’t be able to renegotiate for a lower price if he has even a decent season-12 goals. Some other team will swoop in and buy him. Would he be worth it? How can you say in today’s market. They should have gotten at least a portion of the loan fee taken off the purchase price. ManUtd was not in a good negotiating position as they don’t want the player. Not sure why ACM gave ManUre a life line.

Wasn’t Santi 38 ml? That said, for that amount of money they should be looking at a better striker. One from another league they’ve scouted that looks good. This guy has not looked good in years. Folks, I’m tired about the Pulisic as an example of getting someone in and they’ll shine.. Except for Lampard none of the Chelsea managers believed in Pulisic. Tuchel play Timo Werner- LOL and then bought Sterling for like 64 ml. Potter played Sterling- two Englishmen. They also bought Murdyck. Those players stink but were given starting positions. Yes, Pulisic did have injuries, but when a manager doesn’t believe in you, you sit on the bench. This guy has had lots of playing time and never produced.

The issue is his acceleration (5-20 yrds) is slow. So, with the ball he’s not able to go by people. I’ve never seen him go by people at ManUre who I watch when I can because I enjoy watching them suck.
