This summer, the World Cup kicks off once again and AC Milan could benefit substantially from a few major performances.
It is always good fun when the World Cup rolls around. There are often a few new stars that introduce themselves and it can lead to certain players finding moves that you never thought they’d make. However, it can also be beneficial back home.

Indeed, for Milan, it could well be a huge summer for those leaving the club and there are plenty of markets if you are considering some World Cup betting for some additional interest in the tournament.
There are plenty of players who seem to be on their way out and the Rossoneri could be well served by a few of them having summers to remember. Indeed, a good tournament can raise their price tags, perhaps substantially, and no one would say no to that.
After all, without the Champions League once again, some financial boosts would not go amiss. Starting with France, there are plenty of suggestions about Mike Maignan’s future and if the Frenchman has a big summer between the sticks for Les Bleus, he could well boost his already high valuation.
Now, this could do two things. It could either protect his future, with clubs unwilling to pay what the Diavolo demand. Alternatively, it may secure an even better fee for a goalkeeper who could already be on his way…
Santiago Gimenez and Pervis Estupinan both seem likely to depart after the World Cup. Yet, they are mainstays for their respective national teams. If either performs strongly, perhaps the club could recoup some of their value.
Maybe, just maybe, they could even look to stay at San Siro. Though, that would depend on the willingness of all parties.
Finally, there are the two attacking stars, who may have different fates. Rafael Leao already seems to be heading out the door, but a decision on his future is not expected until after the World Cup. So, a big tournament from him – perhaps leading Portugal to glory – may raise his value back towards the €100 million mark.
Then, there is Christian Pulisic, whose future seems a little more secure. Yet, a lack of contract talks renders that optimism somewhat obsolete. His scoring rate in 2026 has been pretty dire, but his drought was broken in the Red, White and Blue.
If he can continue on that path – scoring a few goals this summer – he may be in a better position to request the €8m salary he wants from Milan. Alternatively, they may seek more from an interested suitor. His summer, perhaps, has the most at stake for all parties. Who knows which way the scales will tip…
