AC Milan, after appointing Igli Tare, mean business and are showing so with the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri.

Despite the sporting director hire taking months, it seems that the hire of a coach will be done in days, with reports suggesting that Allegri’s arrival is imminent. So, the start of the summer plans is now, according to Milan News.

With the return of Max, Milan no longer want to take a gamble. Instead, the focus is on success and striving for greatness, just as the club did in the past. Previously, the coach has won six Serie A titles, and we know the Rossoneri have a second star in their sights.

A more defensively sound and compact Diavolo team is expected, and it seems things will be built around Rafael Leao, whom the coach adores and has done for some time. However, the focus will not be purely on him, and this is where the mercato can aid things.

Hiring a top coach is ‘a statement’ that Milan want to return to their former selves, and this can be another factor in transfers. Players are more likely to accept the proposal of a side that seeks to win titles than a Milan side who are treading water.

Furthermore, it could help retain certain stars like Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders. All of whom could be convinced by the new project.
