With no one in place to make changes at AC Milan, a look has been taken at the squad as it is and how Ruben Amorim may utilise it.
Amorim is working with a pretty full canvas at Milan as it stands. Indeed, the Portuguese head coach is expected to see plenty of change in the squad this summer, with a number of core players potentially on their way out.

Nevertheless, there is plenty to build on, with not everyone planning (or hoping) to leave.
Amorim’s no-change Milan XI
QSVS took a look at the potential line-up for next season, based on the squad as it is now, and it would be pretty similar.
Indeed, the defence would be unchanged with Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic taking up the back three spots. Alexis Saelemakers, Adrien Rabiot and Davide Bartesaghi would all keep their places in midfield.
However, Luka Modric’s exit – and the expected departure of Youssouf Fofana – would allow Samuele Ricci to start.
Leading the line, Christian Pulisic and Christopher Nkunku would sit behind Santiago Gimenez.
It will be interesting to see how close Milan are to this in a few months time, especially with plenty of sales expected.

Well I wrote what this coach need. And one small boy replied that I am football manager game player.
Problem is, without Modric and thinking about Bartesaghi and Sale as left and right midfielders, Milan with Rabiot needs 2 more strong midfielders who are just like Rabiot quality and style.
Bartesaghi and Sale cant play in 3 4 3, They can play only in 3 5 2.
Milan with Amorim needs to have exactly the same 3 midfielders which Pioli had in scudetto year. Rabiot + (someone similar to bennacer or Tonali) + someone similar to (Kessie).
And than to use wingers and classical central forward.
But Milan dont have a money.
And I replied you there complimenting that post, check there. It’s not that they can’t play in 3-4-3, they can but Sale would perhaps be (a lot) more useful in 3-5-2 while I don’t know what to make
of Bartesaghi’s role, it doesn’t matter to me, his role should be now reduced to a squad rotation player and kept at that level.

Ricci might actually be useful if he is put in a role where all he has to do is dirty work, defensive workb and has nothing to do with passing or dictating the play. Similar to what Pioli did with Kessie. Cut his responsibilities.
Exactly what he’d been doing in Torino and he was great at it
Ricci was terrible last season and he did not show one sign that he is capable of being a top player. He played tons of minutes and was largely invisible. No meaningful positive impact, in any game. A squad player at best!
For avoiding relegation it’s ok
Hopefully Puli comes back injury free. He’s now out of tonight’s game for the USMNT. Hope it’s nothing too serious

This makes no sense – Rabiot Gimenez and Maignan all have as much chance of leaving as Modric and Fofana…
Leao, salemakers, pulisic, chukwueze, nkunku five wingers and we are talking about playing with wingbacks? It’s stupid unless we are thinking of getting rid of all our wingers.

So basically a slightly more attacking version of Allegri’s 3-5-2 (which the clowns didn’t like and had reportedly decided to choose something “more modern”)? We had Rabiot and/or Fofana playing almost as AM most of the time anyway. At least they knew how to track back, unlike the additional attacker, especially if he is for example Nkunku. Maybe Amorim has concrete plans for the players he wants for this formation, but we all know he won’t get them.
In summary, I do agree the 3-4-2-1 will lead to more goals, but it won’t be in the opponent’s net.
Antonio Silva, left wing-back (but not Grimaldo since he’s on his way to ATM), Hjulmand, AMC/LW and SC.
Rabiot will leave for sure. I don’t think Gimenes will be good with this formation. Gonsalo Ramos is better.
And where all the new players? I believe Amorim wouldn’t sign if Cardinale told him that the squad remains the same
What? Rabio’s departure is far from a 100% certainty, it’s not a given. GimeneZ, GonÇalo. This article really makes no sense and serves nothing, he wrote about our starting lineup with the current squad/roster but we all know there will be many changes both in&out.
