AC Milan have several players representing them over the international break and four were in action last night, with some strong performances to take note of.

Back at Milanello, there are players readying themselves for a matchday scenario against Padova later this week, where Ruben Amorim will be given a chance to test the attacking combinations available to him at Milan.

However, he will also watch the international break with a bit of joy. Indeed, seeing his players perform for their nations is only a good thing for him and there are certainly a few players who could impress over the two-week break.

Saturday’s internationals

Starting with Luka Modric, the Croatian midfielder became the oldest player to ever score for Croatia, as they beat Czechia 2-1 away from home. It’s no surprise that he was given the highest rating by Sofascore too, with an 8.5.

In Switzerland’s game against North Macedonia, Ardon Jashari played 90 minutes, making 59/67 passes with four defensive contributions. However, the flowers of the game would be given to Zachary Athekame, who got two assists.

Finally, Yunus Musah played 62 minutes wearing the No.10 shirt, making 38/38 passes and winning two of his four duels. It’s clear that his improvement has not been limited to things in a Milan shirt.

    1. Musah finally have a Coach that noticed he ha sto go ove the basics again with Musah like simple passing.

Some times getting the simple things right is the foundation of great things to come.

      Wedone Amorin.

Importantly, I like the fact that Amori is one of us, s strong supporter of AC Milan, could this be the turning point of Rossoneri emergence to dominate football again?

      1. I watched the match, and watched Musah more closely on a replay.
Pochettino finally put him in the position he was born to play, as a defensive mid in a double pivot with Tyler Adams.
I would give him a 6 overall, he was unspectacular, had just a few good defensive take aways (Peru did not really challenge much through the middle), did not lose the ball with any stupid giveaways, and generally went for safe passes.
Some USMNT fans said that he looked terrible, but I think he was just being conservative, doing the safe stuff that Amorim has been obviously teaching him, to stop all the boneheaded turnovers he had become infamous for.

This USMNT roster had some 13 new previously uncapped players, and eight teenagers overall, so the match was characterized by a lot of running, pressing, and these new kids working super super hard to impress Pochettino, so Musah look, well, staid and boring by comparison.
