This morning, Emerson Royal’s AC Milan exit was confirmed and reports state that the funds will be invested this summer.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that the €9 million received from Flamengo will be invested into the team, and more specifically, in his replacement. Instead of waiting around, the club plan to use the funds to improve their offer for Guela Doue.
The Strasbourg defender is the first choice for everyone, but there have been issues matching the price so far. Nevertheless, with money saved from the Theo Hernandez replacement operation, funds can be invested in a right-back.
Now Wesley has gone to Roma, looks like Doue is first choice. Im still clinging to the unrealistic hope we get Dodo, but either Doue or Dodo would be a decent upgrade at RB.
Doue is a better right back than Dodo. Doue can defend well and attack well. Dodo is only good attacking but not good defending.
Doue is best option. He even locked down his brother at PSG.
Idk if it was “ruthless” from the management to sell him. If they ever wanted to be taken seriously as a footballing executive again, they needed to get him as far away from Milan as possible.
What would have been more ruthless was getting rid of him in January, only 6 months after we signed him….and that was exactly what was going to happen but for his injury

The idea of no domestic comps is to improve quality of squad now that can reduce quantity. Allegri system needs a solid defense. Using out of position or primavera players in key roles is an invitation for 6th place. Milan will be low block counterattack team and prob score fewer goals so cannot have a weak back line conceding easily goals like last year. Sales should easily fund LB RB MF x2 and striker. Alex and Alexis will be utility subs around the pitch needing to be versatile imo.
