The finish line is in sight for AC Milan in their bid to secure a top four spot, and it could actually happen this weekend.
It has been a strange season for Milan overall, with the team stuck in the grey area between fighting for the Scudetto and having to hang onto their Champions League place for the vast majority. In recent weeks, the latter has become the clear objective, given the struggles for form in 2026.

The results over the past round mean that only six points are needed between now and the end of the season in order for the Rossoneri to secure a place back in the top European club competition.
The clinching weekend?
First, a final push is needed, and on paper it this could happen as early as this weekend. It’s very difficult in terms of the various combinations required, but not impossible, as MilanPress point out.
The starting point for any discussion is for Massimiliano Allegri’s men to beat Sassuolo away on Sunday afternoon, thus moving Milan onto 70 points in the standings and bringing the finish line to three points away.
If Como (who play against Napoli on Saturday) and Roma (against Fiorentina on Monday) both lose, Allegri’s men would be nine points clear of both the chasing teams with three games to play.
With the head-to-head advantage over both teams (Milan took four points from each), it would mean that the gap would be insurmountable, and that qualification would be in the bag.

Great.
