CF: How much Milan and Inter stand to earn from Supercoppa Italiana final

AC Milan will take on Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia, marking the first derby that will be played for a trophy since the 2011-12 season.

Calcio e Finanza (via Calciomercato.com) reports this morning that the game will also bring an important bonus to the budget. The Supercoppa Italiana will be played in Riyadh between the champions of Italy and the Coppa Italia holders at the King Fahd International Stadium, and it will be held in Saudi Arabia for the last time as per the current agreement.

The contract was signed by Lega Serie A in November 2018 and as part of that deal, the guaranteed prize money is €7.5m to be divided between the two clubs. This is the maximum figure, and it would have been lower had it not been a meeting of Inter, Milan, Juve or Roma.

Serie A League collects 10% of the final figure, and the division will be almost identical between who wins the trophy and who loses, with a difference of only €500k in favour of the winning side.

  1. I kinda find it pathetic that milan tries to paint itself as a club that cares about human rights and works actively against racismn etc. when we are still in cohoots with the saudi regime and gladly accepts their money. Yesterday the saudis arrested a 65 year old profressor called Awad Al-Qarni and the prosecutor is seeking death penalty for him for voicing his opinions about the kingdom on twitter in regard of social reforms of the country.
Then there was the murder of the turkish journalist on the saudi embassy with clear ties to the king himself.
Anyone dealing with these clowns has blood on their hands. Simply no way around it,

    1. Every time you pump some gas into your car, ride on a bus, ride on a plane, refill your heating oil or buy anything with a plastic component you’re in cahoots with them. Seems like we’ve all got blood on our hands…

      1. I dont own a car and dont take the bus and has only flown a handfull of times 😀 I also live in denmark and we have great resources of gas and oil. Obviously not all countries can say the same.

When that is said we are clearly all in the same boatto some extent though but directly seeking parnertships with a regime like theirs still doesnt fit with the idea of for example clubs like ac milan, madrid etc trying to brand themselves as progressive. Far from it. Neither should regimes be given the right to arrange tournaments or finals at their gorund if they clearly disregard human rights. To be fair It should have been a lesson learned already after the olympics 1936 that regimes shouldnt be allowed to parading themsaleves and their might.

  2. I just miss the simpler days when we don’t even care about the money prize, just the bragging rights and ruthless banter to our friends the next time we meet them.
