CF: How much Milan and Inter stand to earn from Supercoppa Italiana final

AC Milan will take on Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia, marking the first derby that will be played for a trophy since the 2011-12 season.

Calcio e Finanza (via Calciomercato.com) reports this morning that the game will also bring an important bonus to the budget. The Supercoppa Italiana will be played in Riyadh between the champions of Italy and the Coppa Italia holders at the King Fahd International Stadium, and it will be held in Saudi Arabia for the last time as per the current agreement.

The contract was signed by Lega Serie A in November 2018 and as part of that deal, the guaranteed prize money is €7.5m to be divided between the two clubs. This is the maximum figure, and it would have been lower had it not been a meeting of Inter, Milan, Juve or Roma.

Serie A League collects 10% of the final figure, and the division will be almost identical between who wins the trophy and who loses, with a difference of only €500k in favour of the winning side.
