The AC Milan Shareholders’ Meeting occurred yesterday and the 2023-24 accounts were approved, with some interesting figures emerging.
The main headline is that Milan have recorded a net profit for the second consecutive year, this time €4.1m, fuelled by record revenues of €457m. That figure was a new all-time record for the club, surpassing the previous season’s record of €404.5m, a +13% increase.
There was also an increase in the overall squad costs that were partly funded by the sale of Sandro Tonali for a club-record fee to Newcastle United. A busy 2023 summer window was what followed, with doubles figures in new additions.
Within the accounts are also the confirmed amounts that Milan spent on signings, which have been listed below by MilanNews:
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (from Chelsea): €18,467,644
Samuel Chukwueze (from Villarreal): €21,114,283
Luka Jovic (from Fiorentina): €500,000
Yunus Musah (from Valencia): €21,777,869
Noah Okafor (from RB Salzburg): €15,500,000
Christian Pulisic (from Chelsea): €20,789,591
Tijjani Reijnders (from AZ Alkmaar): €20,500,000
Luka Romero (free agent): €2,500,000
Luca Pellegrino (from Platense): €3,875,000
Filippo Terracciano (from Hellas Verona): €4,601,438
Marco Sportiello (free agent): €600,000
Alex Jimenez (from Real Madrid, June 2024): €5,000,000
Regarding the fees paid for free agents, there are expenses to consider such as agent fees and commissions, as well as development fees owed to former clubs.
134.8m not including bonuses which we can say would easily round up to 140m. Bought 12 players. For one great starting quality player and one above average player. And mostly players that don’t fit last year’s or this year’s system. Incredible!
💯💯💯
Musah – a back up are m
Musah a backup – Are most expensive signing…..wow
What a waste of money on average and useless players. No improvement whatsoever. Smh
How to spend 140m on 2 starting players that cost 40m.
My god how much trash, it’s easy to save the 60m we made on Tonali if we wanted.
It’s like selling your car and buying 10 bikes
These acquisitions are far worse than the ones made by Fasobelli in Chinese era.
