Gallery: ‘Ibracadabra’, ‘The Milan saviour’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

By Oliver Fisher -

After Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan was confirmed yesterday, it is perhaps no surprise to see the front pages in Italy dominated by the news.

During a statement yesterday it was confirmed that Ibrahimovic has taken on a new role after retiring from football back in June, one that will see him work not only with Milan but also with RedBird and their many business interests.

Today’s front pages read as follows…

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Ibra, mission Milan. Cardinale hires him to give a shock: ‘Back home’. Capello: ‘He must be humble and the club must clarify the roles’.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Ibra is back, the Milan saviour. New role for Zlatan: ‘An endless love.’ Cardinale: ‘A leader.’ Last chance in Newcastle tomorrow.”

Tuttosport: “Ibracadabra. Ibrahimovic Act III: When there are problems, they call him. This time, Cardinale did it, and they will work closely. He will have his say on the transfers and on-the-pitch issues. He will be a charismatic presence and cumbersome at Milanello. Not only that: he must help Pioli starting from tomorrow in Newcastle.”

  1. Now I get it. Jerry wants to bring us entertainment. All of this is like the great US tradition of sitcoms and comedy shows. Now that I see this, it’s brilliant, it’s so comical, better than the Simpson. Jerry is a genius, he even found a new label for the “chief happiness officer” position, it’ll be “senior adviser”. The players and the coach are bad? Zlatan will ask directly Jerry for a babyfoot. Furlani can sell Leao and buy a very nice babyfoot for team happiness.

    1. I’m sure Moncada can scout a talented babyfoot. Or the moneyball algorithm can help, it’s basically Google Shopping. I’m so hyped right now!
