AC Milan and Stefano Pioli are widely expected to exit the season with their paths separating, and with this, rumours have flown about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s position on the situation. Today, he has offered some insight into his thinking.

With all the rumours attached to Milan’s next head coach, there have been some reports that offer some knowledge on the stances of key members around the club. As of today, reports suggest that Ibrahimovic is infatuated with the idea of Antonio Conte becoming the next Rossoneri head coach.

Talks are believed to have been taking place in the past few days, and with any worries about his salary demands being lessened, things could accelerate very quickly between the two parties.

The Swede was asked about the current stance with Pioli by La Gazzetta dello Sport, and he responded in true Ibrahimovic style.

  1. “He is our coach, and we are happy with him.” — this is a short, professional answer, and the translation is: “We need him to guide us to a top 4 finish and then he can go.” If the management was actually happy, they would say something like “We are happy with him and he is staying for next season”
