AC Milan are attempting an ambitious signing in Andoni Iraola to be their new head coach and the Spaniard has been made promises.
Links to Iraola have taken off in the last 36 hours. Indeed, the Bournemouth coach is the first choice for Milan for a few reasons and there have been several meetings in the past seven days in an attempt to win him over.

As has already been reported, the Rossoneri have entered the race for the manager late, falling behind Bayer Leverkusen and Crystal Palace – both of whom have had an extended interest in him – but that may not matter.
Indeed, if the project is right, and with Iraola yet to make a decision, the Spaniard could well head to San Siro for his next job.
Ibra’s promises
To sweeten the deal, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in regular contact with his number one choice and Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) and he has reportedly made him two promises.
The first is that Milan will make ‘significant signings’ over the next two years to bring their level up. Then, he has also promised to stand by the manager, even in times of trouble. This sounds like it should be the norm, but all three of the last managers have been hung out to dry in tough times.

Iraola is good choice but if he wants to stay in EPL we should start discussions with Xavi. He brings winning pedigree, he plays attractive football and our academy will benefit from him as he often likes to play youngsters. If iraola arrives then he needs to be backed.
I prefer the controlled possession football of Xavi to the erratic direct style Iraola has. But both would be good.
I also like ball possession, but you need to have players for that. Take Tomori, he always passed backward, if he did not a mistake with ball keeping. Take Fofana, he pretends he run and covers but in all matches he played he missed many passes and chances and his average run was about 6 km, i e. the laziest of all players!

These types of promises have to be written in some manner, which will mean some sort of a long contract (not like the one we offered to Conceição or even Allegri), some guarantees for the coach and probably something that stipulates that no one will interfer with him.

What a ridiculous take. Good players are leaving Inter all the time to earn more money, I guess no one takes them seriously as well. Inter was selling players because they were in debt. Milan was losing their starters for nothing. You mentioned the economical state of serie A, but 2 of those players, Hakan and Romagnoli funny enough left Milan for a serie A team. Arguably Milan’s best player at the time and Milan’s captain left for a serie A rival.

Milan was losing their best players and were not replacing them but some here think that there was a revival and return to relevance. The team was weaker every season, and some of the better players weren’t even bought by Elliot and Maldini.
Hakan left the club because of 500k exceeding what our management would allow. Romagnoli was a bench player when he left and Lazio’s Lotito even made it clear after he joined them that they had been courting him for years as Lazio has always been Romagnolis childhood club and besides of that he was actually earning 9.2 mil gross in his last year with us due to the hefty renewal done under the Chinese owner Li. So how do you expect Maldini to sort those two deals out.
Nobody and I mean absolutely nobody would have paid Romagnolis salary at that point and at Lazio he earns like 50% less.
