GdS: Ibrahimovic’s Milan journey far from over as renewal is currently likely – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will meet in the new year to discuss the potential renewal of his contract, according to a report.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, positive signs are filtering from the club regarding the idea of Ibrahimovic staying beyond 2022 because there is a ‘total harmony’ between all parties and the player’s performances remain decisive even at 40.

In a few months the Swede will sit down with Milan to discuss a renewal until 2023 and it is likely that talks will take place after the winter transfer market has closed and other more pressing contract extensions have been dealt with.

This is largely because there are no obvious obstacles of an economic or technical nature in the Ibrahimovic negotiations but simply the condition of Zlatan. If he continues to help the team and his body holds up, there will be no problems and extending for another year with the Rossoneri will only be a formality.

Of course, Ibra is an important figure in the Milan dressing room and on the pitch he has shown that he can still make a difference, so the club are also happy to continue with him.

He really loves Milan. The only club he has ever played for twice.

    Forza Ibracadabra.
