MN: Ibrahimovic unequivocal about future and wants new deal – the stance of Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to dazzle at the age of 40 and prove that he can indeed remain decisive, with a renewal now becoming more of a possibility.

MilanNews reports how Ibrahimovic has stated several times since his return to the Rossoneri two years ago that this project, this club and this team still keep him entertained. Thanks to the work of Stefano Pioli and the young core around him, Ibra still very much feels like he has a place in the Rossoneri’s plans and Milan are extracting every last drop of youth from him.

The Swede has spoken about a young, strong and competitive team that must fight for the Scudetto, something that has been missing at Milan since 2011. However, if it doesn’t happen this season then Zlatan has dropped a strong hint that he would be willing to give it another go in 2022-23.

In his interview after the 3-0 win against Genoa, Ibrahimovic was clear about his future: “Now I have to renew too (laughs). If he renews (Pioli), I renew. I am happy for him that he deserves it, he is doing a great job and must continue like this. The renewal is deserved.”

Zlatan sent an important message to the Rossoneri management with this: he still feels like a protagonist and for this reason he will speak with the management regarding the renewal of his contract. On the part of the club, however, there is no rush and talks are postponed until next year.
