AC Milan are expected to hold a meeting in which they will discuss how Francesco Camarda’s loan spell at Lecce is going.
In the summer, Milan carefully evaluated the future of Camarda, debating whether to keep him in the first team, allocate him a starting role with Milan Futuro despite their relegation, or loan him out. They chose the last option, and he went to Lecce with an option to buy plus a buy-back.

Camarda at Lecce: The story so far
As Calciomercato.com recall, Camarda’s first half of the season at Lecce was an up-and-down affair, as you might expect for a youngster in his first real season in Serie A. He began the season as a starter, playing 83 minutes in the first match against Genoa.
He remained the starting lineup in round two against Milan, but was forced off the pitch due to a muscle injury. From then on, Eusebio Di Francesco almost always used him from the bench. Then, on October 28, he came on in the 65th minute against Bologna and scored his first Serie A goal.
That spark wasn’t enough to convince the Giallorossi coach, who waited exactly a month before reintroducing him to the starting XI against Napoli. Camarda took the responsibility of stepping up to the spot to convert a penalty but was thwarted by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
That incident brought tears to the eyes of the teenager on the bench when he was replaced, and it effectively reshuffled the pecking order, with Di Francesco consistently choosing Stulic over him in the next five matches, despite the fact he is yet to score a league goal.
The three goals Camarda scored for Italy U21s hasn’t changed things at club level, and the season risks being somewhat wasted. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is ‘personally monitoring’ his progress, and the scouting team are too.
At the moment, the focus is on Francesco’s growth, his technical improvements and the responses he’s providing when difficulties arise, such as the missed penalty against Napoli. Clearly, his lack of use in recent weeks hasn’t been particularly welcomed by the club, who wanted more minutes.
They are convinced that competition can be beneficial for his development, but they think he should be playing more. Without wishing to interfere with Lecce’s decisions, a meeting is expected soon to assess the situation. Milan hope for more chances and confidence for Camarda.
Milan needs a striker. If he doesn’t play much for Lecce then cut the loan short and bring him.back
He ain’t gonna play much for the first team if he comes back either.
Physically and mentally he’s not at the level he can start for Milan.

Whatever striker Milan signs, if they sign anyone, is coming in to be a backup. Milan plays 352 and Pulisic and Leao are the starters.
If Gimenez and Nkunku can repeatedly start for Milan without scoring even one goal, I think Camarda could too. What’s the worst that could happen?
Ok, Gimenez at least works for the team, but so would Camarda.
I would bring him back in a heartbeat and start him before Gimenez or Nkunku.
I think he would finish more of those good chances they missed, however I also think he would play less than Gimi as he doesn’t yet have the physicallity to lead the line.
I believe those clear chances missed by nkunku and gimenez could be converted by camarda
I have the same opinion as you, what’s the contribution of both nkunku and gimenez so far so good for Milan, we could introduce camarda gain more confidence and be more prolific Infront of goal.

He’s not on loan. He’s on loan with option to buy. So you can’t just “cut the loan short”. Lecce decide whether to keep him or not and given Milan’s buy back option is higher, they of course will keep him
Yeah its a buy option at 3 mil and a buyback option for 4 so surely they would want something like a mil to cut the loan short.
Regardless if he is on a dry loan or a loan with option to buy Milan obviously will have to compensate Lecce for cutting the loan short, especially since Lecce isn’t playing him much.

He is better than Nkunku…so bring him back he will do better …if you watch the Milan last match..you will agree with me Nkunku is finished..he move faster better than the so Nkunku…causes more problem when the ball is with him..
So Milan should get their young star back
He’s done nothing to show that he is better than anyone, including Nkunku. I’m hoping for the kid to do well but he has never shown anything other than he can score against a bunch of teenagers. If you can’t get playing time at Lecce you certainly aren’t going to get playing time at Milan.
if Milan can’t get a reliable striker comes January he should be called
The few games I’ve seen on Lecce, I don’t see any hope of Camarda developing. The team spends most time defending and their counter attack is flat.
If he can be brought back, please Zlatan bring him back. 15mins game time every other week is more development for him at Milan imo
This. I’ve watched 5-6 Lecce matches this season and I feel sorry for Camarda. Zero service and the attacks last for 10 seconds at most as they’re chasing the ball most of the time.
At least playing “scrappy minutes” in a team such as Lecce will build character. What doesn’t break you makes you stronger. Camarda will certainly learn there that everything doesn’t come to him on a silver plate.
Wow, didn’t see this coming. Not at all. FFS. What did they expect? How was Lecce expected to rely on a 17 year old for a relegation battle? Another top decision by management. This kid should be in Serie B (or maybe even Serie C), until he can prove himself as a starting striker that scores at least 15 goals in a season. Primavera -> Futuro (but now some other club in Serie C) -> Serie B -> Serie A, hitting statistical milestones all along the way. That’s literally progression, but now he’s languishing. Oh well.
agree, no team in the world would rely on a 17 year old for a relegation battle.
maybe the plan was to let him get familiar with Serie A defenders – even if it was just a few minutes every game, it will give him an idea what to improve in order to beat this or that defender in certain situations.
maybe management was thinking he can learn more from a few duels with high class CBs than from 2000 minutes against random 3rd league dudes.
not saying it was a good decision, just saying it could be an explanation. if they knew upfront that our strikers are injured all the time, then they’d have kept him anyway.

What makes him a great talent? That he scored a bunch of goals against teenagers? What would you have Milan do? He’s not ready to play for a club like Milan yet. Better to let him get some minutes at a club like Lecce without all the pressure that comes with playing for Milan. It was the right move. It’s up to him to earn the minutes. If he can’t get minutes at Lecce he was not going to get them here.
So… At 17 Camarda and his talent has been destroyed? Remind me again how “everyone” still keeps praising Musah for his ENORMOUS TALENT while he’s already 23 years old. Based on your comment, Musah should have quit football years ago as his talent has gone wasted. 😀
futuro is always playing sunday. so if we cut the loan, we could play him 90 minutes there whenever seniors are playing fr/sat (where he can still be on the bench and come for the last 15 mins if games allows)
Bring him back and give him minutes off the bench. Were not using all our subs every game right now which is showing with fatigue. Home games the fans will lift him and get his confidence back. Being loaned to lecce isnt great if theyre defending 80 mins of the the game and have him upfront getting one chance per game sortve scenario. The players we have can help him in training. Give him guidance. And if all attackers are fit then let him play some games for the futuro. He needs the milan family to nurture him. Not a relegating battle team with players all looking to get their next step up to a bigger team.

To me ,Daniel Maldini and Carmada are better than 1000 NKUNKU. GIVE THEM TIME AND PROMOTE YOUR LEAGUE. DANIEL MALDINI AND FRANCHESCO CARMADA SHOULD START FROM SOMEWHERE, PLEASE.
cant be worse than nkunku… barca and bayern play their 17 year olds in the champions league. no wonder they develop. he doesnt even get minutes with lecce, he may as well be training with our first team
i would give lecce half a mil and send him to a team like genoa under de rossi. at lecce they just defend and barely score goals or create opportunities to do so. great to develop a a defender or midfielder but not the right environment for a striker. genoa though right now is scoring and playing attacking footy more. if not that, then at least add him to the roster for the remainder of the season at milan, he’ll get the minutes he needs. i bet he’ll play over nkunku and gimenz now will be out longer too
