Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to Milanello yesterday, but reports would suggest that he’s not returning to a major role at AC Milan.
Last season, Ibrahimovic was a regular at Milanello, just as he had been in previous seasons. However, cracks started to form and by the end, he and Massimiliano Allegri did not get on. In fact, reports suggested that they’d had a physical altercation before the end of the season.

Over the summer, there were several management changes and Ibrahimovic appears to have been involved. After all, yesterday’s visit to the training ground was his first in six months. If that doesn’t represent a change in his role, what does?
Ibrahimovic’s return to Milanello
Now, Tuttosport (via Pianeta Milan) have added to yesterday’s reports of Ibrahimovic’s presence, stating that he watched the entire training session from afar before leaving in the early afternoon, ‘choosing not to have lunch with Amorim’.
It’s a sign that would point towards his return to Italy not being an ‘imminent return to the forefront’ of the club, as the report states. What is also unknown is whether this visit will be the first of something regular, or a more isolated incident.
Either way, him choosing not to have lunch with Amorim shows a clear change from last season, where he regularly met and spoke with the coach, Massimiliano Allegri. Considering how that relationship ended, it may well be a good thing.
