Ibrahimovic reveals how Tiger Woods inspired Milan to chewing-gum solution

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made some special statements during his career and in his most recent interview, he revealed an interesting thing about AC Milan. A statement that involves golf legend Tiger Woods.

The 39-year-old striker, who will turn 40 next month, is currently on the sidelines with a minor injury. Speaking to the weekly edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, namely SportWeek (via MilanNews), he was asked about many things.

He spoke about the Rossoneri’s recent success, what it’s like to play at his age physically and he also revealed an interesting solution in the locker room. Inspired by Tiger Woods, chewing gum is apparently very popular among the players.

“I wanted something that would help keep concentration. I had seen Tiger Woods on TV playing with chewing gum in his mouth, the commentator said he needed to keep his hunger down. And I realized what I needed: I can’t walk around the field with a bottle, but with chewing gum yes. Now in the Milan locker room, they are selling like hotcakes. I take it before the game and keep it until it loses its flavour,” he stated.

This afternoon, Milan will take on Spezia away from home and hopefully, the chewing gum will keep them from another 2-0 loss at that venue. Ibrahimovic, as mentioned, won’t feature but Olivier Giroud is back and will start up front.
