Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at AC Milan’s 125th anniversary party last night and he made a short speech on stage in front of everyone.
The Swede has been the subject of some rather negative headlines over the past few days, such as after Sunday’s game against Genoa when some fans made their thoughts clear on the way the club is being run.
When he was shown on screen at the match there was a smattering of jeers, showing unhappiness at the current path. That continued with the protest that took place outside the entrance to the private party last night, all while the management avoided it by going in another entrance.
Ibrahimovic has just reached one year as a Senior Advisor to RedBird Capital and the Milan management, and he wanted to address the attendees on stage.
“For me, Milan is very special. In this room there is so much history between players and employees,” he said (via MilanPress).
“I was lucky to have played for Milan and to have won with this shirt, even if not like others here who have won much more than me. I am very honoured to be here and to be a Milan fan. So many emotions pass. Milan is a big family and I am honoured to feel part of it.”
Leave the club immediately, clown. You’re a disgrace.
We don’t need mercenary in our club you can leave we are not children we don’t want empty promises and sweet talk we know all you care is money
In his defense, he never wanted to leave Milan. He was told he had to depart because the club could not afford both him and Thiago Silva. In every other place he has played, he has always spoken highly of Milan and expressed his deep affection for the team. While the current situation may seem dire, everything could change if the team goes on a winning streak in Serie A.
He’s so honored he had to sneak in to the event from a side entrance, like a cheap hooker LOL!!!
😀
From self proclaimed lion to Gerry’s little pooch.
I’m still a bit forgiving with Ibra. Not saying he’s doing a great job but I think he still has time and we should give him time. If we afforded Maldini to grow in his role, we should also Ibra. But man it’s been difficult. I have more of an issue with the people who are truly above him ..Judas, Scaroni, Gerry.
It’s their direction that’s bringing issues. At least when we had Gazidis we knew why for instance we had to get loan players like Bakayoko and Brahim because we didn’t have money. The messaging was clearer. But now, the books are good but….
I too am a bit forgiving with him. And maybe he derseves time.
But in Maldini he was never afforded time to grow that’s the problem. Man who won an award for best director, if Maldini ha dbeen afforded time to grow surely without a doubt in my mind he would be soo much better.
But as that much was not given to Maldini, I doubt that much would be given to ibra. Or it might and he still. Might tailor Redbird philosophy.
In truth at this point they all gat to go Redbird and them all.
For me Maldini proved he did wonders on a meagre budget. Started off shaky, made mistakes yes, but way more positives than negatives when he was around. And proof of that is a nice tidy Scudetto and a UCL semi to put Europe on warning. The trajectory was upward. Can’t say the same with the current group. I think they shot their own selves in the foot. The got ahead of themselves and they thought they knew better when really they didn’t.
In the classic human lingo they fcked around and found out the hard way.
Play stupid games…
He need to take a step back, his name has power in Football, but his behaviour like manager is terrible.. he must be the first who want to has a winning team and he need to be realistic…. everyone in Italy and whole world see how Milan game is bad and how bad decision was to hire Fonseca…
Yes Fonseca is in some way better then Pioli, but he is not prepare for club like Milan and star players like we have.
it was Maldini who push to get Z back when everyone & every club said no, Maldini knew we need him at that time.
now is time to do the same Z, if you dare..
Very good point and Zlatan brought back the winning mentality that eventually won Milan the scudetto! So do not forget…
the point.. are Z brave enough to request jeri (just like Maldini did to Elliots) to bring Maldini back cz we need him mostly atm, or he stay as “puppet on the flood” just like now
