CorSport: The thing that would mean Ibrahimovic is 99% sure to renew with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future remain somewhat of a mystery at the moment but it seems it will be heavily influenced by what happens at an international level.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), if Sweden qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and therefore win their play-offs, Ibrahimovic is 99% sure to renew his contract with the Rossoneri and stay for another season.

However, first his national will have to face off against the Czech Republic and Poland in order to book their place at the tournament later this year, which is obviously not the easiest of paths given what is at stake.

If they do make it to Qatar then his contract renewal with Milan will have to be signed with lower figures than what he currently earns. The management want to reduce Zlatan’s salary to €3m net per season plus some bonuses related to goals and appearances, as per the paper.
