Ibrahimovic comments on Walker, Tomori and Joao Felix speculation

AC Milan Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that the club are looking into signing Kyle Walker, but joked about why he must speak less on targets.

There are a lot of different stories circulating at the moment with regards to what January business Milan might do. Above all, it seems like Walker is on the way in from Manchester City, with the Marcus Rashford idea shelved.

However, there is also talk of Joao Felix joining from Chelsea given that he is struggling for regular Premier League minutes and the Rossoneri could do with added options, especially with the Portuguese’s versatility.

In addition, Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Fikayo Tomori as a centre-back option, even though the Englishman will start against them this evening at the Allianz Stadium.

Ibrahimovic spoke to DAZN a few minutes before kick-off and he was rather predictably asked about some of the transfer rumours surrounding Milan, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

There’s a lot of talk about Walker arriving, is it true? Isn’t it against your youth project?

“Everyone knows he is a great player, he played for Tottenham and the England national team. When there is a player like Walker on the market there is a lot of interest.

“He doesn’t go against our strategies. He is strong, he is a leader, he dominates the dressing room. We are checking what is possible and what is not possible.”

Have you spoken to Conceiçao?

“With the coach you talk every day more or less. To have a dialogue about what he likes and what our strategy is you have to talk every day. We know what is needed and we work. If it is needed, because the team is strong.”

Where is something needed?

“It’s the mercato. The more I talk, the more it costs. The less I talk, the less it costs (laughs).”

So best not to mention Joao Felix…

“There are always new names coming out every day, with agents who have their strategies. The team is already strong and we showed it in the Supercoppa that it can win, we need to have this continuity to bring the results we need.”

Will Tomori leave? If an offer arrives, is he sellable?

“He is our player, he is happy at Milan. With Fonseca it was a different moment, Conceiçao likes him a lot. He is a Milan player.”

  1. “We know what is needed and we work. If it is needed, because the team is strong.”

If it’s needed? Bunch of average RB’s while there’s only Theo on the opposite side. No cover for our midfield despite spending the biggest portion of 200 millions on it. And two attackers who don’t score.

Overall this team is poorly constructed and average and we’ll need yet another overhaul to replace the wastes these clowns brought in two summers combined.

    1. You don’t go into a market where you have to negotiate for transfer fees saying; “yes we desperately need a forward!”
      It’s all gamesmanship dude.

      1. Zlatan even joked “the more I talk the more it costs….”
You have to read between the lines with comments to the media, and in this case Zlatan straight up says it…

        1. If you have to say something you say “we’re in close discussion with our coach and we’ll see if there are any opportunities”. Full stop.

But this clown is so clumsy with words it hurts. Not the first times tho. Our PR is so bad it hurts.

    2. Thanks dude, at least someone show up a critic covering the real level of this team, scoring goal against weakest club with preventing the red zone is their main objective isn’t a guarantee to deserve wearing the red and black shirt.

As the pressure rise they can’t stand it

  2. We are NOT a serious club under Redbird. PERIOD.

A serious club does not rely on strikers such as Abraham, Morata, Jovic and Camrada – all BACKUP players at this stages in their respective careers.

A serious club does not PASS on FREE players such as Rabiot or Thuram.

A serious club does not always have to sell to buy and as a result misses out on a player like Manu Koné for example.

A serious club doesn’t sell its Talent (Kalulu) to a direct rival (Juve) for peanuts and buys a WORSE player in Emerson and then has to buy another player who is another backup at this stage in his career in an aging Walker

A serious club doesn’t hire a coach nobody wanted in Fonseca.

A serious club doesn’t hire all INEXPERIENCED management team and expect them to out fox veterans like Marotta and Giuntoli

Like is said we are NOT A SERIOUS CLUB

  3. Milan should stop bringing in English players. Their culture and mentality are just not compatible with the Italian way of work. It might be one of the reason Milan are struggling for the last few years

    1. I think you mean EPL, there are only two English players. It’s not about where the players are from, it’s about how good they are. We have all seen that Emerson, Abraham, RLC weren’t good enough in the EPL. Yes, we thought Pulisic would bomb and he hasn’t, but he’s the exception. We don’t sign the best players from the EPL, we sign the rejects.

  4. Dear Ibrahimovic, i am amazed that, you did not realize what we need!! Very easy another Giroud….. What is the reason to get Felix?? I cannot understand the intenion of this deal!!!

  5. The only thing we can give credit to management for is the way deals are now being structured. Both Fonseca and Conceicao can be dumped after 6 months. The Walker deal is only 2 years, and not 4 like they gave to trash like Origi. Cardinale and Furlani are learning. It’s that idiot Moncada that has ruined everything.

  6. Im amazed the way u guys criticize players cos u called these players rejects but in their respective clubs they dont get playing time and deep down I think u kw how good they re when they been given quality playing time
