CM: Icardi continues red hot form for Galatasaray – what filters regarding Milan rumours

By Oliver Fisher -

Mauro Icardi has found a new lease of life with Galatasaray and now he is beginning to think of what the future might hold, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com report, Galatasaray’s 6-0 win against Kayserispor means that they are now big favourites to win the league and Icardi got a hat-trick and well as an assist, taking his tally to 21 goal contributions in 18 games for the Istanbul side.

Icardi has become a star in Turkey, but the question is for how long. The first issue to resolve is the one between Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain, from whom the forward arrived on loan until the end of the season.

He has a contract until 2024 worth around €9m net per season, and to move to Galatasaray he gave up part of his salary, going down to €6,750,000 of which €6m is paid by the French club and €750k by the Turkish club.

Icardi is not closing to the possibility of continuing his career in Turkey while Gala have already announced that they want to negotiate with the Parisians to buy the Argentine outright, but the operation will not be simply.

That is because a return to Serie A remains the ‘secret dream’ of Icardi and his entourage, with clubs in Italy able to take advantage of the Growth Decree tax relief scheme to lower the salary commitments.

Milan have excellent relations with Icardi’s representatives and they need a new striker ahead of next season, but the report claims that at the moment the Rossoneri management have other priorities.

Juventus have been long-time admirers but must resolve the futures of Milik, Kean and Vlahovic, while Napoli seem an unlikely destination even in the event of Osimhen’s farewell. Roma have Belotti, Dybala and Abraham in the balance, so they could be the best fit currently.

  1. Big deal scoring 3 goals and 1 assist in five games in the super strong Turkish League! The turkish league is maybe on the same lvl of the Portuguese League,French League,Dutch League or Belgian!

    1. Funny to bring up Belgian league. If I’m not mistaken we just splashed big money on their hottest prospect and look where it got us.

    2. Zaniolo’s only issue as a Serie A player was finishing.

Beating up on average Turkish sides is simply the confidence boster he needs to get back to his best.

He is not an unknown quantity.

    1. Because if cancer was human, it would be Icardi. There is a reason no serious club would touch him with a ten-foot pole. Both his personal and his professional life are a dumpster fire.
