Mauro Icardi’s adventure with Galatasaray is increasingly close to being considered over, and he could leave on a free transfer.
As Calciomercato.com report, talks between Icardi and Galatasaray over the renewal of his deal – which expires at the end of this month – have not yet materialised and actually stalled quite some time ago.

Precisely for this reason, the Rosario native is moving in search of a new adventure with a clear idea in mind: returning to the league where he exploded and where he performed best in his career: Serie A.
The former Inter captain will therefore end his adventure in Turkey after four years with Galatasaray. In total, he has made 134 appearances, scoring 77 goals and providing 25 assists – big numbers considering he hasn’t been a starter, but rather a reserve since Victor Osimhen’s arrival.
Mauro back in Milano?
According to Fabrizio Romano, Icardi has begun looking around for the best possible solution for his future. He knows this could be the last major contract of his career, and he’s also confident he’s still competitive enough to aim for titles and trophies.
He has put a return to Serie A at the top of his list, where several clubs are inquiring about him. The most prominent rumours point to Juventus, but they have not made any concrete moves for Icardi so far and are evaluating other options more suited to Spalletti’s style of play.
Milan are also looking for a new centre-forward given their attacking struggles, but until they clarify their plans and who will lead the team, everything remains on pause. Given his past at Inter, it remains to be seen if the Argentine would be open to the move too.
Other options are more viable, such as Roma (Gian Gasperini values him and is looking for a back-up to Malen) and Como (a path explored in the past and in a city he already knows well). Finally, keep an eye on Fiorentina and Lazio, both clubs seeking a striker to relaunch in 2026-27.

I think this would be a good signing short-term. Two year contract. I know we’re going with youth, but you still need to sprinkle in veterans and Icardi will guarantee goals. For !uck sake, just no, guy is problematic, that´s why he didn´t get to be part of Argentina national team, with all the problems Milan already has as a club, why would you consider bringing a problematic person? and is not like he is an amazing striker at the end of his career, is just a player at the end of his career. If you want a veteran striker as back up, there are options like: Mitrovic, Sorlot, Muriqi, Budimir (and if Modric continues one more season, him could be an option, Croatian teammates), Aubameyang, Immobile
