IFK Lidingö head coach confirms starlet will undergo medical for Milan on Tuesday

AC Milan look set to confirm the signing of another young Swedish talent in IFK Lidingö’s Wilgot Marshage.

After Emil Roback from Hammarby and Lukas Björklund from Malmö FF, the next teenage promise is now ready to join the Rossoneri, as Marshage will have his medical on Tuesday ahead of a move.

Marshage, now 16, made his debut for IFK Lidingö’s senior side as a 15-year-old in a Swedish cup match last year against GIF Sundsvall.

Last winter he trained with Milan and after a period of silence, contacts have intensified during the summer, with the Milan management clearly keen on bringing him into the ranks.

Lidingo head coach Magnus Pålsson confirmed the news to FotbollDirekt,

“He’s going to Milan to undergo his medical today. It’s obviously very nice for him,” he said.

“What I know is that we will get the equivalent of solidarity compensation. So it doesn’t affect us that much. However, it could become significantly more money depending on his success in the future. He will join their U18 side but let’s see how he will develop.”
