Il Cittadino: Milan sign preliminary agreement which fuels rumours of San Donato move

AC Milan have signed a preliminary agreement which suggests they are taking steps towards making San Donato the site for the new stadium.

We attempted to break down why San Donato is likely to have become the chosen site for the Milan ownership in our latest Substack piece, with it being a combination of the obstacles linked to the other candidates and some positive features about the area.

As Felice Raimondo writes on Twitter, this morning’s edition of the newspaper Il Cittadino reports that Milan have signed an agreement with Cassinari’s company – Sportlifecity – for the construction of the stadium in San Donato.

It is a preliminary agreement between private individuals for the transfer of permits and plans related to the San Francesco area. This is a fundamental step that will allow the club to quickly achieve concrete results, with a massive investment planned for the stadium and surrounding area.

For now, no official communication has arrived, but those informed on the situation confirm a document has been signed concerning the transfer to the Rossoneri of the operation known as ‘Sportlifecity’, put forward by Cassinari&Partners.

    1. I can see it now Cardinale’s starting lineup:

      Stadium
      Stadium – Stadium – Stadium – Stadium
      Stadium – Stadium
      Stadium – Stadium – Stadium
      Stadium

At least our right wing will be stronger with Stadium in the lineup

  1. If I remember correctly, San Donato was never an option because that piece of land won’t be able to house more than a 40k stadium. What changed? Does anyone has any info on it? The land didn’t get bigger. So.. why San Donato now?
