Il Romanista: Milan evaluating swap deal with Roma for Zalewski – the details

AC Milan are evaluating the possibility of a swap deal with AS Roma that would see Polish winger Nicola Zalewksi join the club.

As reported by Il Romanista, Milan could try and swap Alexis Saelemaekers for Zalewski in the final week of the market in order to get a more versatile wide player into the squad.

An agreement would need to be found on the adjustment of salaries but the idea certainly exists, with Roma needing to quickly change their plans after Paulo Dybala’s decision to stay at the club.

Saelemaekers has had a very unusual summer with the Rossoneri was the initial assumption was that he would join Bologna permanently after a successful loan spell.

When the Rossoblu looked elsewhere, the new assumption as that he would be quickly sold elsewhere. He has ended up being a key part of the team under Paulo Fonseca in pre-season and now it would not be a surprise if he played a regular role during the season.

Despite all of that, Milan would still be willing to let him go if the right opportunity arose and a swap deal with Roma for Zalewski could be what is needed.

Milan’s main focus is still signing Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach.

  1. Not that I’m a big fan of Salad, but I’d rather have him on my team than Zalewski. You can say what you want but salad is a hard worker and can be important for the team.

  2. Salads one powerful point is playing multiple roles (without really producing at any if you as me) Zalewski does LW ,RW ,LB, LWB, RWB, LM, RM, basically any wide position, younger and already better footballer overall. Salad always pressing all over the pitch doesn’t necessarily make him good defensive.. sure those runs do confuse the opponent and so his teammates too. Zalewski have better understanding of the roles. I favor making the swap.

  3. The Roma kid is also a good set piece taker one Milan that are lacking without Adli. These boys just float the ball in the air for a few seconds or just a half height cross stopping at the first post! then call it a corner kick.

    1. Quite the opposite. Terracciano is big ,not agile enough or comfortable with the ball. That’s not Zawleski who’s also a Polish international and been steady contributor at a big club for a few seasons.
