“I’ll shoot you in your head” – what was said during Ibrahimovic-Lukaku row and an explanation

By Oliver Fisher -

There was a blazing row on the field just before half-time during last night’s Coppa Italia game between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku.

The two stood head to head having exchanged words before a set piece, and shortly after the referee’s whistle – with Valeri having given a card to each of the two attackers – Zlatan and Lukaku continued to insult each other on the way to the locker room.

Ibrahimovic was sent off not long after the break for a second yellow card which effectively ruined the game. According to MilanNews, Ibrahimovic apologised to his team-mates for his sending off and then reiterated in front of the whole team that he did not use any racist language or slurs against Lukaku.

In fact, as TMW explains, the comment that really seemed to rustle Lukaku was one about doing voodoo, which is a reference to an old story whereby the Belgian supposedly rejected a move to Everton in favour of going to Chelsea because his mother had been told to during a pilgrimage to Africa.

In the reconstruction of the insults launched between Lukaku and Ibrahimovic, the former in fact made a disgusting threat.

This is the complete reconstruction published by the Twitter account, Italian Football Tv:

Ibra: “You are a donkey”
Lukaku: “Let’s go inside you b****, we’re gonna see”
Ibra: “Call your mother, do your voodoo s***”
Lukaku: “F*** you & your wife you little b****.”
Lukaku: “You want to speak about my mother you son of a b**** h? I’ll shoot you in your head.”
