Thiaw Germany

CM: ‘Immovable’ Thiaw could be set for nation change following recent rise

Seeing players linked with international football is rather common after a spell of good form, and this is the case, kind of, for AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw.

After a poor start to the season, there were many questions about what place, if any, Thiaw had in the plans for Milan moving forward. Partnering with this, there were several ready to turn a page on his time at the club, with shouts for the Rossoneri to search for a new home for him.

However, this is the last idea on anyone’s mind at present. In recent weeks, Thiaw has established himself once again and alongside Matteo Gabbia, he has returned to his best in a Diavolo shirt, leading Calciomercato.com to brand him ‘immovable’.

The change in his fortunes is a credit to him, especially considering he spent a lot of time sidelined after the mistake-ridden opening to his season, which is something that many would struggle with. However, this has not been the case for the defender.

As a result of the recent upturn in performances, Senegal are looking to offer him a place in the National Team set-up, despite the fact that he has three German caps. Nevertheless, because these appearances were all friendlies, he is still eligible to change nationalities, and the Senegalese National Team want to offer him a new lease of life.

  1. Cisse is a good international coach for Senegal. I think with him they won a recent AFCON (stand corrected ofc). Unless that was a different Cisse

    1. @IKWYDLS Yes you’re right Bro.
That’s the former defender of Senegal, ALIOU CISSE and he won them their African Cup Of Nation.

          1. For Milans sake I would hope he chooses to play for either Germany or Finland as its often disrupting when the Afcon is held in January and I also think he has a chance to make a career at the German international team if he shows a bit of patience for that to happen.

    1. Not even close, Thiaw is a great player, and he’s young with huge potential, do you think Newcastle and Madrid would be following him so closely if he was bad? Are you English because your lack of football knowledge is showing

    2. Real Madrid wanted him. If Ancelotti spots a players then you must think twice. Thankfully we didn’t sell him. Would have ended up like Kalulu. Sometimes all these guys need is to get match fit (especially the big CBs) and rhythm. The potential is there….it was clear in the Scudetto year. But ppl are so quick to toss aside for no meaningful reason

    3. Arguably he is. He improved a little this year by removing that stupid grin off his face & starting to work on his game more seriously, however, that back pass he made last game confirms the game changing flaw is always there inside him.

      1. this lineup is terrible. gabia is the best one. he’s not even called up by italy ffs. looks like midtable team centerback lineup. well, we’re midtable team lol

  2. And so many Redbird Lovers screamed to sell him after the first few weeks of the season LOL – just like they did with Leao and Mike and are now doing with Theo….unreal
