Alvaro Morata’s move to Como, after weeks of sorting, has finally been completed. However, he explained how a game with AC Milan helped make his decision.

The saga with Morata, Galatasaray and Como was almost as frustrating as the move that brought Ardon Jashari to Milan this summer. However, both are now done, and other areas can be focused on.

After arriving last summer, the Spaniard never really took off and failed to really staple himself into the team. A let-down signing, indeed, and he was shipped off to Turkey after only six months, something which was almost a theme.

Power of Friendship

Now, he moves to another Serie A club in Como, who have been mixing youth with experience since their promotion to the top flight. Considering the relationship between Morata and coach Cesc Fabregas, it was seemingly a no-brainer.

Today, he discussed the role of his friend, and Morata’s words to ANSA have been relayed by MilanNews.

“I’m truly happy to have arrived in Como. Last year, playing against Como, I was able to appreciate the team and the project; you can see there’s a lot of ambition. I promise the fans and the club that I will give 200% in every training session and every match. I can’t wait to wear this shirt.”

  1. this man is one of the softest, the most weak mentally speaking; footballer I have come across with a decent amount of talent.

I mean I say this with kindness, but this dude would break under any form of criticism and I cannot imagine him experiencing it easy at Como.

  2. Yeah right… you said similar things before joining Galatasaray.
Funny enough Benacer also told a similar story about De Zerbi about leaving for Marsielle. Now he’s stuck because no club is willing to buy him still.

I guess the moral lesson is be careful what you wish for.

  3. Meanwhile I hear PSG are desperately trying to get Gigi off their books. He’s a top goalkeeper but I wonder why they don’t treat him like one. If we had sold Maignan to Chelsea maybe we’d have made a move for him…. A move sure to incite fury in most fans
