AC Milan were handed a massive blow in the away game against Sassuolo and Oliver reacted to the defeat straight after the full-time whistle.
Heading into the game, Massimiliano Allegri and his men knew they had an opportunity to cement themselves in the Champions League race. Not only that, but second place was also up for grabs after Napoli’s draw against Como last night.
Sadly, nothing went according to plan for Milan, who conceded early on and then also had a man sent off (Fikayo Tomori). Now, the Champions League is very much at risk again with three games remaining of the season. A Roma win tomorrow would make fifth place just three points away.
Oliver shared his thoughts on the game after the full-time whistle in the usual instant reaction video, taking over the duties from Lorenzo and Stefano this time out. As you would expect, he didn’t have many positive things to say in the 17-minute breakdown.
I dont understand the fascination of making it to the champions league when your team is not even good enough to make it out of the group stage. Whats the point in continuing this struggle year after year? It would be wiser to rebuild with younger players and organically make it to the champions league when you are actually good enough to compete.
I really don’t see the likelihood of missing CL. Too many results would have to go against us.
I would prefer we did though, no good can come of a summer window with Allegri & Tare players and then 4 months of getting humiliated on a global scale in the CL playing our 90s football.
