Inter are ready to spend €30m in order to beat AC Milan to the signing of Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, a report claims.
Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Leoni in recent weeks, with the presumption being that the money to fund the deal would arrive from the sale of Malick Thiaw. However, the German is cold on the idea of joining Como it seems, and Inter have sensed an opportunity.

Inter up the ante
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are trying to rebuild their squad and in an ‘expensive’ way. Ange-Yoan Bonny will arrive from Parma, but Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have not run out of ideas and are thinking about how to rejuvenate the defence too.
Parma’s Giovanni Leoni is the prized object of this market, but also the Nerazzurri’s main objective for an aging department. In theory, there is a nest egg of €30m already available, and he would reunite with Chivu who launched him at Parma.

Sales are expected too. Hakan Calhanoglu is a case that still needs to be resolved while for yaNN Bisseck, for example, inter would gladly discuss offers between €30-40m, while another €10m could come from the sale of Aleksandar Stankovic to Club Brugge.
The possibility of leaving Leoni on loan for a year at the Tardini is not excluded in the negotiations, indeed it is a hypothesis to follow.

We need to beat Inter to this signing…
yes, our defense can’t lose to inter. if we fail to get Giovanni Leoni, we have to get someone more potential
another L from Thiaw… just leave mf
This reminds me of when we were chasing Frattesi despite it being clear he was going to Inter already. Not bad to show interest and try, but don’t rely on it coming off, alternative plans needed.
Inter wil surely have him ac milan like pricing players like crayfish worst management they don’t know how to do business
Do not agree. For example the ricci signing for 25 is clear evidence that they know how to do business.
Personally I am not hundred percent sure he is already worth 30million and I would probably not overbod very high, there might be better options. Its sad, but you cannot get everything you want
Management know how to sign, they don’t know how to sell. They blew the chance to sell Thiaw last January and Musah earlier in the month. Now Leoni’s price has gone up and Inter are making money while in the CWC.
Slå till nu och bygg italienskt i stället för nån utfyllnad som Clownen Zlatan dragit fram
I’m happy this player looks weak to me i really don’t want him to join milan
If they want to offer €100m for him, that’s their choice. They did it with Frattesi; where did it get them. Juventus is having issues with Vlahovic right now. It’s true that we drag in our dealings, but, with our financial situation, we cannot afford to splash money on players, just to beat competition. We are just getting back on our feet; we are not Inter. So far, this management have done well as far as managing the accounts of the club.
Coppola was a steal and they missed it. Now left are already overpriced Leoni and Comuzzo, smh.
How can they missed someone they are not trying to sign LOL
Exactly the trigger I was after. Newspapers are selling us every young Italian CB out there available. They’re feeding us Leoni rumours now just as they did with Coppola not long ago. Mixing it with Comuzzo every now and then. Just wait for fresh Comuzzo rumour in a matter of a day, now that we’re reportedly “outpriced for Leoni”.
Offer them colombo plus 15 mill plus 10% resale
