Inter’s Dumfries sends bold message ahead of derby by claiming ‘nobody’ from Milan scares him

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries has sent a bold message to AC Milan ahead of Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina clash at San Siro.

The hype and anticipation for the derby is beginning to build given that it is a huge game for both sides. Milan need to win to throw Inter’s charge for the Scudetto off and get themselves back in the race, while the Nerazzurri know that a victory against their city rivals basically ends their pursuit of the title.

There are a lot of interesting sub-plots to a fixture like this and one of them is that Dumfries was heavily linked with a move to Milan back in the summer of 2020 when it looked as though an investment would be made on a new right-back. Instead, he went to the blue half of the city to replace Achraf Hakimi.

Now, summer signing Dumfries has given an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he spoke about Milan in view of Saturday’s derby, making the bold claim that nobody from the current Rossoneri squad scares him.

“Who scares me from Milan? Nobody. But Zlatan is great, I don’t need to add anything, but I never like to talk too much about rivals: I repeat, we are the focus,” he said (via MilanNews).
