Theo Hernandez is one step away from saying goodbye to AC Milan, and Inter’s Denzel Dumfries has admitted he will miss their battles.
Many memorable moments will remain etched in Theo’s six years with Milan from the wonderful solo goal against Atalanta – decisive for the Scudetto win – to the plays in tandem with Rafael Leao up and down the left flank. Now, though, a new adventure in Saudi Arabia awaits.

Among the photographs are also the countless derby duels with Dumfries, who joined Inter four years ago and quickly became his arch nemesis of sorts. Things really kicked off in the 2021-22 season when – in a comeback win for the Rossoneri – the pair clashed and the Frenchman got sent off.
Dumfries was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport while at the Club World Cup in the United States with the Nerazzurri. He also spoke about Theo Hernandez, commenting on his probable farewell to Serie A, with his words relayed by Calciomercato.com.
They were great battles (laughs) and I hope there will be more to come, maybe in the national team. It’s a great and fun rivalry, we and the fans like it, it’s part of the game. But we’ll have a drink together, if he wants, only when we’ve both stopped,” he said.
Remember when we had one of the best LB in the world in Theo? When he’s rivaled with another best wing back in Hakimi. When Di Marco only looked like a poor man version of Theo (and he literally said he’s inspired by Theo). Well all the best for your future errand, Theo. One will never forget that solo run goal against Atalanta.
The battles against Dumfries were the only times I actually saw Theo make an effort defensively. If only he would play as hard vs others. Enjoy the desert Theo.
