On Sunday, Inter won the Scudetto whilst AC Milan dragged themselves back into the Champions League race. The two couldn’t be further apart.

There is plenty that can be said about the distance between Milan and Inter currently. A second Scudetto in three seasons is telling, all whilst the Rossoneri make it difficult to qualify for the Champions League.

The differences are stark and can be seen on the pitch and in the league table. However, over a longer period of time, it stacks up and the difference is alarming.

Milan only looking up at Inter

Corriere della Sera writes that the differences between Inter and Milan have become ‘the norm’ in recent seasons. Over the past few years, a 15-point gap at the end of the season has become a regular thing and it is seemingly just being widened, as relayed by MilanPress.

Even when looking at the past six seasons, the trend is noticeable and, barring one anomaly, the distance is only getting bigger with ambitions becoming separate. The Nerazzurri are now looking to Europe, whilst the Rossoneri just want to get into the Champions League, let alone win the competition.

The points tallies are also shown from the previous seasons and when put in front of you, the difference is staggering, worryingly so.

  1. Milan is mediocre, nothing else explains it this clearly. No ambition whatsoever, just financial gain as demanded by the owners.

  2. Why the gap between Inter and Milan has grown ? Because Milan is a club whiteout ambition. It’s a club whiteout present and whiteout future with this ownership and management. It’s a club who doesn’t attract new supporters , doesn’t create energy and curiosity, it’s a flat boring club. If I was a kid now, never , ever in a million years I would not be attracted to a club like present Milan.
