Inter coach Inzaghi was ‘not concerned’ whether Milan played three or four players in defence

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has admitted that it was not a concern to him as to whether AC Milan were going to play with a three-player or a four-player defence in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday night.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Nerazzurri coach was much more focused on his own team during his press conference.

He was asked whether he expected the Rossoneri to play in such a withdrawn manner for the entire game, but he stressed that he was not thinking about what system Stefano Pioli may choose.

“There has been talk about it over the last few days, but I was more concerned about my own regardless of whether Milan played three or four at the back,” Inzaghi said.

He also spoke with glee about the fact that Inter have now won two derbies already in 2023 after they beat Milan 3-0 in the Supercoppa Italiana final in Riyadh on January 18.

Inzaghi admitted that it is not something that happens very often and it is important to savour those sorts of moments.

“I am very satisfied, I congratulated the team because they were perfect, I don’t remember a derby won and dominated in this way. Let’s not forget that we were coming from a difficult Coppa Italia quarter-final. We had a great derby, winning two in twenty days I think doesn’t happen all the time. We look neither forward nor backward in the standings, but only at us,” Inzaghi said.
