Repubblica: Inter join Milan and other clubs in race to land Spezia defender

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter have now joined the race to sign Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior after his impressive tournament in Qatar, according to a report.

La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan) write that Kiwior was already attracting the attention of top clubs in Italy after his excellent performances with Spezia, and that seems to have increased given that he impressed at the World Cup with the Polish national team.

The 22-year-old is showing his quality now but his age shows that he can also be an important resource for the future too. The paper claims that Milan have been on his trail for some time, but are not be the only Italian club interested in Kiwior.

Roma and Juventus have expressed their admiration for the player and now Inter have also entered this race. If Milan Skriniar does not renew with the Nerazzurri then they could try to buy Kiwior, with Chris Smalling and Kalidou Koulibaly also on the list.

  1. Still think that Kiwior is better as a defensive midfielder than a CB. Wasn’t impressed with him at the World Cup, especially not for the reported money Spezia wants for him
