Inter 1-2 AC Milan: Follow the game with SempreMilan’s live commentary

AC Milan are taking on Inter in the prestigious Derby Della Madonnina this evening. After five games and just one win, Paulo Fonseca and his men are desperate to turn things around, so follow the action with our live updates below.

The Portuguese manager has made three changes to the starting XI for tonight’s game and as if that wasn’t enough, he has also switched to a 4-4-2 formation. Given that Christian Puloisic and Rafael Leao are on the flanks, though, it’s more like a 4-2-4 formation.

You can follow the action with our live commentary below as it is published on our X profile. Unfortunately, there is no watchalong for tonight’s game but the lads will be back soon on that front. In the meantime, let’s hope for a good result tonight.

    1. What are you talking about? The goal was Emerson’s fault. Huge empty space left there for DiMarco. Rafa had nothing to do with it.

Again, the opponent’s goal comes from our right back side.

Rafa plays on the left side.

  1. Good start, but same as Liverpool again, our non-existent midfield and terrible defense costs us the game, and we will lose unless something drastic changes. Leao is absolutely shocking. Never seen a lazier, more disinterested performance in my life. I would’ve taken him off BEFORE half-time and embarrass non unprofessional clown. Pulisic incredible.

  2. Is it Leao that is not trying or the game plan that is not utilizing him correctly ?

There is an improvement in the collective team performance which is encouraging but I think some players still not clear about their role and Leao is one of them.

        1. I mean professional in like, a pro… he is a pro player. He got paid a lot to play football.. but he dont behave how a pro should.

maybe language barrier. I agree that he seems lethargic. He is still potentially our best player, but need to step his game a lot.

          1. Yeah I do agree with that completely. Something isn’t right. But language barrier? He’s been in Italy a while now. I don’t know if it’s an excuse anymore.

    1. I had a feeling 442 could work. Job well done. The torward block pressed high and kept Inter’s midfield and defense pinned. Having a slightly more aggressive and quicker pair of forwards on top was perfect. We also scored beautiful goals. Well done by Fonseca and the team put in a nice shift. Gabbia on set pieces has been great for us. This one feels great.

  3. Finally the curse stop! After 6 consecutive losses against Merda…

Pulisic our best player. And Gabbia need to always start. Leao being Leao.

    4-4-2 might be the solution?

    Forza Milan

  4. Fofana really did cover a lot of ground in this game. Most are giving him a 6.5-7. I’d go even a tad higher. Of course Gabbia is being great. I’d rather play Pavlovic next to him though.
